Job Description

Our client, a leading Aerospace & Defense supplier, is in need of an Electronics Packaging Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a Management-level position within the organization, and requires a minimum of 15 years of experience of electronics packaging experience. US Citizenship is required, and relocation assistance is available.

DUTIES:

- Responsible for coordinating all mechanical packaging activities for electronics & electrical systems for Aerospace electronics
- Provide technical leadership to a cross-functional group of engineering teams to develop electronics packaging
- Develop technology road maps for IR&D activities by integrating thermal conditioning, materials, and processing techniques
- Manage appropriate engineering staff levels across groups by developing internal and external resources
- Develop standard processes and tool strategies
- Develop the budget for the electronics packaging group
- Develop and maintain key relationships and communication across teams, business unit managers, customers, and suppliers
- Develop resolutions to customer's technical and process issues either internally or in the field; frequent travel is required to support staff and programs


REQUIRES:

- Advanced degree (MS or MBA) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 15 years of relative electronics packaging experience in the Aerospace, Defense, or Military industry
- US Citizenship is required; a Secret Clearance is highly desired
- Experience designing Aerospace and Military electronics boxes for thermal and vibration environments
- Must be an expert in the integration of aerospace or military electronic hardware
- Must have broad knowledge of packaging high power equipment and implementing power components and embedded processing components
- Experience with box chassis design
- Working knowledge of brazed aluminum, sheet metal, and hogged-out aluminum assemblies
- Working knowledge of Unigraphics, SINDA, ANSYS, and Betasoft
- Experience conducting thermal and vibration stress analysis
- Military or Civil aircraft experience is highly preferred
