The Engineering Manager coordinates manufacturing and process engineering activities using cost-effective methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Will work with production to analyze and resolve paint quality issues. This position will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls, research new technology and develop engineering expertise in others through direct supervision and coaching of Engineering team members. The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing project costs, cost justification, implementation timelines and insuring return on investment is achieved.
Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year degree, preferably in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering, plus 5 or more years of applicable experience in a similar manufacturing environment. Specific experience with liquid paint application and paint application equipment is highly desired. Candidates should have previous leadership experience and a background in Lean, Kaizen and/or Six Sigma concepts. This position requires strong communication (written and verbal) skills and experience with large project management in a team-based environment. Environmental compliance management experience is a plus.
