You’ll be working closely with the development team and you’ll also be a back up customer support engineer (1st and 2nd level). This position requires:&lt;br /&gt;

•Firsthand experience developing automated tests using scripts, tools, and programming languages&lt;br /&gt;
•Excellent  knowledge of SQL language&lt;br /&gt;
•Good knowledge of C++ and/or C#&lt;br /&gt;

   -At least one DBMS (preferably DB2, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server)&lt;br /&gt;

•Strong communications skills (verbal and written) to communicate with developers (in the US and Europe) and with customers/partners around the world&lt;br /&gt;

Position is responsible for managing multiple external relationships including representing Calpine in vendor negotiations and addressing regulatory concerns. Leads water treatment safety and compliance activities. Writes and reviews discharge permits and meets with permitting authorities to address concerns and respond to inquiries. Serves as primary interface with vendors including, but not limited to chemical and equipment suppliers. Negotiates pricing and service agreements. Writes bid templates and specifications and performs bid cost analysis and technical reviews. Meets with plant water treatment specialists and discusses ongoing activities, problems, equipment, compliance and treatment programs. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&lt;br /&gt;

•Creates and studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements&lt;br /&gt;
•Verifies conformance of finished workpieces to specifications&lt;br /&gt;
•Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of programming of design part &lt;br /&gt;
•Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly&lt;br /&gt;
•Tests designed parts for fit and functionality&lt;br /&gt;
•Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated&lt;br /&gt;
•Programs, sets up and operates machine to make prototype samples&lt;br /&gt;
•Follows up designs with detailed documentation&lt;br /&gt;
•Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems&lt;br /&gt;

Knowledge, skills and abilities required: &lt;br /&gt;
•Knowledge of MasterCam 3D Modeling Software&lt;br /&gt;
•Knowledge and fluency with Solidworks 3D Modeling software&lt;br /&gt;

Duties and Responsibilities&lt;br /&gt;
•	Identify, evaluate, and recommend changes or improvements to operational processes, procedures, and equipment and provide supporting analysis;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data utilizing various statistical, quality and decision making tools;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Lead and facilitate process improvement teams within the framework of Six-Sigma focusing on projects demonstrating significant financial impact;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Perform process validation and maintain necessary documentation;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Assist users in understanding and establishing baseline performance and work standards;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Develop budget and capital expenditure plans for operational improvements; &lt;br /&gt;
•	Manage and/or participate in project teams to achieve defined objective and deliverables through the use of standardized Company processes;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Develop cost comparisons of alternate processes, parts, tooling, equipment, or systems within Operations;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Perform cost studies, economic comparisons, and justification analysis;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Lower the cost of production by eliminating wastes in both manpower and materials;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Research, develop and implement cost reduction programs;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Direct and assist in the preparation of various reports and presentation for field and executive management; &lt;br /&gt;
•	Develop, maintain and distribute reports as required.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Qualifications / Requirements&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
•	Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Industrial Engineering and two to five years practical experience in any machine oriented background, required; &lt;br /&gt;
•	Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and/or Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience is a plus.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Ability to design, develop, implement and improve integrated systems that included people, materials, information, equipment and cost.  &lt;br /&gt;
•	Capable of performing root cause analysis to determine cause and solutions to various technical manufacturing issues.  Product costing knowledge and ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Intermediate to advanced skill level with Microsoft Office, Project, and Access required.  Proficiency in query and macro generation a plus.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Intermediate to advanced skill level with CAD, Solid Works, and/or Visio software required.  Facility Layout and Process Flow Mapping experience is a plus.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team in order to achieve project deliverables and milestone deadlines. &lt;br /&gt;
