The Energy and Environmental Engineer is responsible for program oversight for the Energy and Water Management Programs, focused on reducing energy consumption and compliance with all environmental regulations in the manufacturing plants to ensure that the facilities properly handle and dispose of waste, maintain a safe environment for associates and the community; implement risk management policies and procedures to mitigate damage to property and/or product and participate in the communication plan in the event of a release or incident. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Direct the activities of the Energy and Water Management Programs identifying accountabilities and establishing criteria to measure progress &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Develop an annual plan and budget for the Energy and Water Management Programs, establishing goals and objectives &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Coordinate the development of Capital Projects and execution plans ensuring costs are incorporated into the Programs for affected organizations&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Monitor the Energy and Water Management Programs expenditures across the North American domestic facilities&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Establish contacts with experts and consultants in Energy and Water Management to stay current with industry best practices&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Manage the Energy Program to implement savings projects with a 3% reduction year-to-year. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ensure that RPC complies with all United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) requirements&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Review permit renewal dates and track facility compliance&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Prepare project plans to define the project objectives and the methods&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Prepare bid documents and recommendations for contractor selection&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Prepare Energy and Water Management Programs status reports&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Assist facilities in the preparation of required environmental compliance documentation, reports, inquiries, permit applications, emission inventories, and hazardous waste reporting&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Interface closely with all levels of the organization, including other Engineers, Research and Development, Quality, Plant Management and Plant Technicians&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Represents the company's position and interest effectively in dealing with outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ensure local environmental controls are in place to mitigate damage or exposure to the community or surrounding properties&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Direct the activities of contractors for waste stream data collections and analysis; provide recommendations based on findings to maintain compliance&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Lead the activities of site investigations and responses to environmental releases and incidents, perform root cause analysis of all environmental incidents&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Provide technical support, compliance training, environmental planning and auditing for manufacturing facilities&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Will act as the representative for RPC to vendors, contractors and regulatory agencies on Energy and Water Management Programs issues&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Work with the Sustainability Group to investigate areas of manufacturing where greener technology or methods might be used to reduce the plants' environmental footprint&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Frequent Travel (75%) required. Some work on weekends.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Requirements:&lt;br /&gt;
An Energy and Environmental Engineer must have:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Management&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
3 ' 5 years environmental management experience directing compliance activities in a large scale manufacturing environment&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Experience in Wastewater system management, design and operation.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Knowledge and understanding of USEPA regulations pertaining to air, water and chemical storage.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to write a concise report of findings and present the data for an audience from the plant floor to the boardroom.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Strong understanding of and experience in dealing with local, state, and federal environmental agencies (prefer experience in CA &amp; TN)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment with all levels of Associates&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Will be required to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasping, and balancing as part of the production and engineering activities out on the floor. Will be required to see and hear well enough to understand associates questions and respond to their concerns. Will be required to work in freezers, near noisy machinery, and near confined spaces as part of their daily activities.&lt;br /&gt;

• Responsible for preparation of required periodic reports in a timely fashion and in accordance with the applicable permit conditions. &lt;br /&gt;
• Responsible for submittal of documents in accordance with applicable California Energy Commission Conditions of Certification. &lt;br /&gt;
• Inspects construction site for compliance with applicable LORS. &lt;br /&gt;
• Manage site hazardous materials and waste. &lt;br /&gt;
• Assist site owner’s representatives with environmental compliance. &lt;br /&gt;
• Assist site contractors to ensure their compliance with applicable LORS. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Qualifications: &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
• Experience associated with power plant operations preferred. Must have good general knowledge of environmental health and safety rules and regulations associated with power generation facilities or large construction projects. Good oral and written communication skills required. Must be comfortable speaking in front of people. &lt;br /&gt;
• A Bachelor?s degree in an environmental science field, health and safety training, or equivalent working experience. &lt;br /&gt;
• Must know how to lead as well as work in a team environment. &lt;br /&gt;
• Must be able to use the Microsoft Office Suite. &lt;br /&gt;
• Valid driver?s license with an acceptable driving record&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;
