The individuals selected will be Remote Sensing Research Engineers within the Electro Optical Systems Lab (EOSL) at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). These employees design, construct, and test electro-optical-mechanical systems for applications in LIDAR, ISR, and Imaging.

The position may be filled at the entry or middle levels depending on demonstrated capacity to solve complex engineering problems, manage small technical work teams, or win external funding leading to large-scale projects.

We are especially interested in individuals having high-level skills in vibration and thermal FEA, Solidworks, manufacturing design, and fabrication as applied to imaging and remote sensing systems.

To apply at the entry level (Research Engineer 1), applicants must have a BS degree in mechanical engineering – and a strong desire to work on technical aspects of hardware and software for remote sensing imaging systems.

Job Description: The Cyber Technology and Information Systems Laboratory is seeking a hardworking web developer with a track record of implementing open source web-based solutions. The candidate will work with the Open Technology Branch developing software using open source stacks. The Open Technology Branch creates web-based, mobile and desktop applications and is looking for a candidate that enjoys a wide-range of challenges and opportunity.

Required

Education: BS in Computer Science

Experience: 1-5 years' experience as a web developer is desired. Experience with PHP, Python, HTML5/CSS, Drupal, Joomla or Wordpress. Strong motivation to learn and grow as a developer. A candidate with a track record of open source community involvement is desired and willingness to roll up your sleeves and develop using new technologies.

Optional

Web development skills: Ruby, JavaScript, WebGL, Familiarity with Linux, SQL Database Design and Usage, Git

Mobile Development: Any experience developing mobile applications is desired, but not required.

Other: Candidate must be a US citizen capable of holding a Secret DoD Security clearance, active clearance a major plus.

The ideal candidate would be highly motivated and energetic with a MS in Computer Science or Engineering and would like to work in a cutting-edge research environment. Strong relationships to vendors, standards bodies, government agencies, and initiatives related to federal/state/local/tribal secure information sharing and focus on the national identity and attribute manage is a plus. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary.

The primary work assignment would be as cyber-security policy and identity management subject matter expert for Government projects and business development. Focus is currently on the secure sharing of information between state, local, and federal agency information systems in the justice and public safety domain. Each agency is autonomous and has a unique architecture, legacy infrastructure, identity management system, and security policies and procedures. GTRI serves as the principle architect and integrator and provides technical guidance to numerous agencies and contractors.
