Position Requirements

We require a B.S. in engineering with 10+ years experience or an M.S. or Ph.D. with 7 years experience. The qualified candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the natural gas value chain from production through delivery into the interstate pipeline system, as well as working knowledge of all gas separations unit operations for natural gas and syngases. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Proposal/report writing skill is a must. Process simulation using Aspen� programs and other process simulators is needed. Business development experience is desirable.

Experience in providing hands-on training of the use of equipment, devices or systems used for data collection and management is desirable.

In addition, we require familiarity with thermal conversion systems (such as pyrolysis and gasification) in laboratory or industrial environments, including experience working with operating equipment and/or processes at elevated temperature and pressure. Experience with catalytic process such as petrochemical refining is a plus. Ability to clearly communicate and present information verbally and in written format are necessary. Process modeling experience with Hysys or AspenPlus is also desirable.

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Headquartered in Elmhurst, IL, Fast Heat is a leader in technologies for the plastics industry. Since 1957, Fast Heat has been providing customers with customized temperature control solutions that allow them to improve plant performance, productivity and quality. Our company is growing and we have created a new position on our engineering team: Senior Electrical Engineer.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:
� Designing, developing and implementing new products based on the Fast Heat product roadmap.
� Supporting continuous product improvements for all temperature control and sensor network products.
� Managing and implementing large and complex product development projects.
� Performing corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment.
� Customer technical support and custom product enhancements.
� Developing operating procedures and documentation for all software / hardware development.
� Providing documentation and training on equipment, both internally to staff and to customers.
� Developing �Technology Roadmap� in conjunction with Fast Heat stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and sales / marketing team.
� Reporting weekly progress updates to management.

Qualifications:
� 5 to 10 years of experience designing and developing products in the electronics hardware and software industry.
� An Electrical Engineering degree with experience designing advanced electronic products (control systems experience a plus!)
� Experience with embedded systems, hardware and software.
� Active use of C/C++/C#.
� Use of CAD and/or Solidworks.
� Ability to partner with and support the Manufacturing Department.
� Self-motivated, organized and able to manage complex projects.
� Work well within a team environment.
� Manufacturing industry experience (plastics manufacturing a plus!).
� Electromechanical design experience is a plus (industrial design/ sheet metal assembly, etc.)
� Experience working with agency approvals is a plus.
� Experience designing advanced temperature control systems is a plus.

Primary Job Function:

The primary function is the application of human factors engineering to the design and development of pharmaceutical products with an emphasis on drug/device combination products.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. This position in AbbVie Research and Development and would be responsible for the design and evaluation of user interfaces (hardware and
software) for medical products including devices and drug delivery systems, support systems and associated training/instructional elements.

The main objective of these activities is to produce safe, reliable, easy-to-use, and easy-to-maintain medical products in furthering the AbbVie goals of developing products that are compelling for our patients.

Responsibilities�Include:
� Participate in contextual inquiry studies.
� Participate in teams to develop user requirements.
� Collaborate or lead use related risk analysis efforts.
� Participate in teams to design and develop user interfaces (hardware, software, labeling, instructions and training).
� Conduct expert evaluations, brainstorming sessions, competitive analysis, and other usability engineering methodologies with both internal teams and external vendors. Negotiate contracts and projects with outside vendors.
� Design, plan, execute and document simulated-use usability tests, field studies, focus groups, survey and questionnaire creation, and other usability evaluation methods.

Accountability:

Effective performance directly impacts the company's product marketing activities and financial goals. The incumbent is accountable for the progress of difficult to predict internal/external investment and future profitability of new products that are between 2 and 10 years from realization. Scientific excellence and compliance requirements for these projects are significant and key decision making is high risk/high reward.

Scope:

This position typically has wide latitude in decisions required by ongoing project plans. The retention and recruitment of highly technical personnel and the day-to-day maintenance of standards of scientific excellence and compliance are also within the authority of the incumbent.�

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Master's�degree or Ph.D. Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Psychology, Computer Science or equivalent combination� of education�and experience.��

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

� Minimum five years human factors/usability engineering experience.
� In-depth knowledge of user interface design and general knowledge about human perception, cognition and a basic knowledge of anthropometrics, biomechanics and physiology.
� Experience in the areas of gathering user requirements, use scenario development, contextual inquiry, use-based risk analysis, conducting usability evaluations, and questionnaire/survey design required.
� Ability to work autonomously or in a team setting with high-level direction.
� Experience with workflow and usability analysis; experience designing solutions to usability issues.
� Excellent collaboration and organization skills.
� Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
� Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
� Certification in Human Factors (CPE or CHFP) is a plus.
� Familiarization with medical product design regulations, guidances and standards.
