Harris Group is seeking an Electrical Designer to work in our Portland office. The preferred candidate will have an Associate Degree or Computer Aided Design training and 5-10 years experience in the design of power distribution, motor control, lighting and grounding systems for industrial process facilities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

� Load tabulations
� Medium and low voltage power distribution system design, including system configuration and equipment selection and sizing
� Layout of motor control centers and development of medium voltage and low voltage motor elementary diagrams
� Design of feeder and branch circuits including selection of conductors, conduit, and required protective devices
� Lighting calculations and fixture selection for indoor and outdoor lighting systems
� Panelboard layout, schedules and riser diagrams
� Layout of underground conduit and duct banks
� Layout and routing of conduit and cable tray systems, and circuit schedule development
� Grounding, telecom, fire alarm and security systems
� Control and PLC cabinet wiring diagrams

Qualifications

Experience with the key duties and responsibilities described above is a requirement.
� Associate Degree or Computer Aided Design training
� 5-10 years experience in the design of power distribution, motor control, lighting and grounding systems for industrial process facilities
� Proficiency using AutoCAD V2010 or higher
� Proven ability to supervise work of other designers and drafters
� Strong communication skills
� Working knowledge of the latest version of the NEC

Additional design experience (desirable):

� Automation controls (PLC) and building management systems
� Hazardous classification location drawings defining hazardous zones & boundaries
� Variable frequency drive installations
� Lighting design software (AGI32 or equivalent)
� Pulp & Paper industry experience
� Steam and/or gas turbine generator project experience
� Petrochemical industry experience
� Pharmaceutical and Bio Science facilities experience

Assists in providing technical services for KLJ projects in a timely, accurate, and cost effective manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

� Use CADD and BIM software (AutoCAD 2013 and Autodesk REVIT Structure 2013) and equipment to prepare and revise structural plans and details for buildings and other miscellaneous structures
� Setup and prepare plan sheets
� Provide quality control by reviewing work completed by other CADD technicians to ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards

RESPONSIBILITIES

� Become familiar with the plans and related material for each project and be able to utilize the information appropriately
� Understand and follow company established standard CADD procedures for file structure and standard drawing procedures for projects
� Keep up-to-date with CADD and BIM equipment, software, and training to improve CADD and BIM efficiency and accuracy
� Communicate effectively with other team members and engineering disciplines
� Perform all responsibilities with attention to detail and deadlines
� Work effectively both independently and as a team member

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
An Associates degree in drafting technology or a related field is required.
Preferences:
One to three years of experience with structural drafting is preferred.

HOURS & TRAVEL
This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 100% of time spent in the office. Overtime will be required.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Using input provided by the Project Engineer in the form of concept sketches and marked drawings, prepares engineering layouts showing the relationship and arrangement of components for development of new products.
* With minimal supervision, prepares complex sectional and/or external layouts to resolve envelope concerns, functional or interference problems.
* Checks all engineering documents created for each assigned project to ensure conformance to all company and/or contractually specified standards for drafting practice, dimensioning and tolerancing, material specifications, etc.
* Assists the Project Engineer in determining and implementing the method of dimensioning engineering drawings for each assigned project.
* Creates installation and assembly layouts to verify local clearances between mating and adjacent parts.
* Performs complex tolerance and dimensional stackups of all parts and assemblies comprising an assigned project.
* Advises Drafters in concerns of drafting procedures, dimensioning and tolerancing, view placement, etc.
* Assists the Acting Drafting Administrator in the preparation of the Drafting Procedures Manual.
* Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Requires four years of high school studies or GED plus college level courses in advanced mathematics, solid geometry and computer-aided design
* 2 years minimum experience as a CAD Design Drafter or an Associate�s degree in Computer Aided Drafting
* Pro/Engineer Wildfire or CATIA V5 experience a plus
* Machine shop or inspection background is highly valued
* Must be proficient in all aspects of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
* U.S. Citizen mandatory

URS - Professional Solutions is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to be based in our Aiken, SC office.

Level Specific Responsibilities:

� Preparing written reports and technical analyses
� Preparing Fire Hazards Analysis for DOE Nuclear Facilities
� Conducting design reviews associated with construction and commissioning activities
� Providing fire protection field services to nuclear facility operation and maintenance personnel
� Selecting and justifying fire protection systems and program requirements for new facilities and facilities undergoing modifications
� Performing fire protection inspections, appraisals and evaluations

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

� Education: Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university.
� Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in a discipline or specialty.
� The candidate must have 3 years demonstrated experience in the preparation of written fire protection analyses, which include one out of the following topics: Fire Hazard Analyses, fire modeling, or performance-based design.
� Candidates must be familiar with NFPA 30, NFPA 101, NFPA 801.
� Knowledge of DOE Orders and Standards; and Codes of Federal Regulations for Commercial Nuclear facilities are a plus.
� Candidates will be expected to assist in growing the existing customer base and expand into new markets.
� The candidate must have good writing and interpersonal skills.
� Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
� Candidate must be eligible to obtain a DOE Q clearance and access to Commercial Nuclear Facilities.

Candidate must meet one or more of the following criteria and this must be stated on their profile and/or resume:

� Option 1: The individual is a graduate of an accredited university or college with a Bachelor of Science in an engineering or related technical field and meets the qualifications for Member Grade in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. (�Member Grade� is available to graduates of an engineering program with an additional minimum of three years� experience in responsible charge of fire protection engineering work, or equivalent experience in practice.)

� Option 2: The individual has a member grade in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.

� Option 3: The individual is a Registered Professional Fire Protection Engineer.

Job Title: Electrical Drafter

The Electrical Drafter creates simple drawings and modifies existing drawings to show changes in design. The individual in this position must:

� Collaborate as a productive member of project teams (with a mentor as necessary).
� Learn and demonstrate Engineering Professionalism in all interactions, actively work to increase awareness of customer needs, and provide efficient service to internal and external customers.
� Schedule daily activities to complete assigned tasks, communicate and document requisite information while following established Dart policies and procedures (with assistance as needed).

Specific Duties:

� Produce simple detail, assembly, and weldment drawings
� Complete basic Engineering Change Orders
� Produce basic Bill of Materials from machine design information
� Operate plotter/copier, laser printer, fax, and other office machinery
� Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to drawings

Requirements and Qualifications:

� High School Diploma or equivalent required, an Associate's degree in Design and Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
� At least two years of experience in 2D or 3D CAD including schematic, detail, and assembly drawings or two years of experience as an Electrical Technician
� Two or more years of experience with MS Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, and Teamcenter preferred
� One or more years of experience with GD&T preferred
� One or more years of experience producing Bill of Materials/Part Lists preferred
� One or more years of experience performing measurement and/or examination of prototype tools for production drawing development preferred
� Three or more years of experience assisting with design modifications and upgrades to existing designs preferred
� Two or more years of experience with measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers preferred
� Understanding and application of decimals and fractions required
� Strong verbal and written communication skills
� A valid driver's license and favorable motor vehicle report
� Ability to travel domestically up to 5% of the time
