PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Lead and manage the engineering change in the manufacturing plant along with business partners in manufacturing, quality, and corporate industrialization team.
� Lead the continuous product improvement and cost reduction efforts with business partners (i.e. manufacturing, quality and corporate industrialization team) ensuring that a rigorous process is followed and that all efforts are aligned with Lean manufacturing principles.
� Define and communicate performance targets established through policy deployment for quality, customer service.
� Work with business partners to determine appropriate projects to focus on, using data driven decisions.
� Participate in the testing/analysis effort with business partners to determine root cause of problems. Participate in plant level resolution efforts for Supplier and Customer corrective action process.
� Interface with corporate industrialization and other business partners on the decision for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.
� Work with production, maintenance of production equipment and facilities to maintain equipment capability through proper autonomous and preventative maintenance programs.
� Oversees, with maintenance and corporate equipment & industrialization teams, the design, justification, planning, scheduling and building of machines and tools required for operations and quality.
� Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with plant management and other business partners on the execution of policy deployment and establishing employee involvement programs (Kaizens, SMED, 5s, Kami Shabai etc.)
� Promote Lean Manufacturing principles with a focus on creating value and eliminating waste.
� Establish an environment conducive to high levels of morale, employee�s satisfaction, and performance.
� Deliver performance to budget. Use participative approach in budgeting process.
� Ensure alignment of activities and resources within the team, and ensure cross-organization collaboration and employee�s involvement where appropriate.
� Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback and encouragement to employees to promote the growth and development of the performance engineering team.
� Continued personal growth and development, support and encourage continuous learning within Performance Engineering team.
� Be highly visible to employees and create a safe environment for participation. Promote going to Gemba to solve problems and also promote hands-on, high involvement approaches to problem solving.

� Understanding of engineering principals to include developing, qualifying and implementing new production processes within a manufacturing environment. Excellent time management, communications, presentation and organization skills.

� Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before clients and employees of organization.

� Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inferences, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Knowledge on thermal dynamics.

9. Work closely with the Quality to obtain successful completion of FAA Certification and audits.

10. Manage the conformity process with includes the determination of items that require conformity, writing and issuing the request for conformity, tracking the conformity progress for all projects.

11. Advise company personnel of procedures and requirements of FAA by conferring with other members of the aviation industry and maintaining familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) and foreign certification requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

� 4-year college degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
� In-depth knowledge of FAA Parts 21, 23, 27 & 29 Airworthiness Standards.
� 3+ years experience with FAA certification procedures and the STC process.
� Desire a current DER delegation or someone with potential to become a DER with the company's assistance.
� Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software. Knowledge of other applications such as Primavera and DOORS is also helpful.

1. Design mechanical components.

3. Coordinate with the involved shops to assure that the design criteria are met.

Develops, controls, and updates aircraft matrix. Communicate designs, data, and specifications to shop managers/personnel in a clear, and concise manner (i.e. with the minimum of time spent, resulting in minimal errors), in a time frame relevant to the urgency of the project. Revise designs within the design criteria throughout the project without delaying the application of manpower or completion of the project. 4. Perform product/vendor searches.
