The Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) at the University of Oklahoma (OU) is currently looking to hire a research scientist in radar signal processing to support and further strengthen its rapidly growing sponsored research in DoD- and weather-related radar. This person will support the research mission of the ARRC by providing technical expertise to existing research projects, by supporting the development of new strategic capabilities, and by developing their own funded research program.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Required skills and proficiencies include:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1. PhD in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent military/work experience;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2. Proficiency in radar systems performance analysis, radar signal processing, algorithm development, radar simulation, and/or statistical &amp; digital signal processing;&lt;br /&gt;

2. Experience with emerging radar architectures and concepts such as digital radar, MIMO radar, passive radar, and arbitrary waveform synthesis.&lt;br /&gt;

The ARRC (&lt;a href=&quot;http://arrc.ou.edu&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;http://arrc.ou.edu&lt;/a&gt;) is an interdisciplinary research center at OU specializing in radar systems for both meteorological and defense-related applications. The ARRC is part of a university strategic initiative in radar engineering that is currently undergoing significant growth. Several new faculty have recently been added (bringing the current total to 15 faculty in the center from both engineering and meteorology), and construction is currently underway on a ~35,000 sq-ft. building dedicated to radar research and development (&lt;a href=&quot;http://arrc.ou.edu/ril.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;http://arrc.ou.edu/ril.html&lt;/a&gt;). The new building will serve as a centralized laboratory for ARRC faculty, over 50 graduate students, many post-docs and visiting scientists, as well as the ARRC’s permanent administrative and technical staff. The new building will include a large microwave lab, high-bay garage for mobile radar development, prototype fabrication facilities, machine shop, and anechoic chambers. In order to support this growing initiative, multiple new hires are expected, including this current search for a research scientist in radar signal processing.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;

•	Prepare patent applications.&lt;br /&gt;

Minimal Qualifications or Requirements:&lt;br /&gt;
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Paper Technology with at least 5 years of industrial experience.&lt;br /&gt;
PLC logistics design experience required.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Preferred Qualifications:&lt;br /&gt;
Advanced degree preferred.&lt;br /&gt;

•Audit operations and processes for strict and verbatim adherence to both internal and customer requirements.&lt;br /&gt;
•Audit quality and quantity of raw materials consumed and products manufactured.&lt;br /&gt;
•Generate and implement process improvement plans.&lt;br /&gt;
•Resolve production, equipment, and systems problems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.&lt;br /&gt;
•Assist in the revision of work instructions.&lt;br /&gt;
•Other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Process Improvement Manager.&lt;br /&gt;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:&lt;br /&gt;

The successful candidate will have a BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry; including at least 2 years experience in an industrial setting, or an equivalent environment, or equivalent combination of experience and education.  Knowledge and experience in adapting Lean Manufacturing or Toyota Production System (TPS) techniques or principles to the production environment are desirable. SUMMARY:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;!--d--&gt;This position is part of a R&amp;D team that is responsible for the development and improvement of MOCVD epitaxial growth for III-Nitride LED products. The successful candidate will be a resourceful, hands-on, problem solver with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges.  The person should thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented atmosphere and be capable and willing to work in a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
SHIFT:  2nd Shift + One Weekend Day (2:00pm-midnight; Tues-Sat OR Sun-Thurs):&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
RESPONSIBILITIES:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Support the team through ownership of process and equipment aspects of semiconductor processing, &lt;br /&gt;
Provide contributions to process improvement through scheduling of runs, tracking process parameters, and troubleshooting process and equipment problems &lt;br /&gt;
Analysis of parametric data and preparation of summaries (both written and verbal) for distribution internally to the R&amp;D team and also for broader distribution to production teams &lt;br /&gt;
Ownership of projects related to process development; these projects may involve working directly with production manufacturing teams &lt;br /&gt;
Be the technical lead for the R&amp;D team during 2nd shift &lt;br /&gt;
Support 24x7 R&amp;D operations, including off-shift response as necessary &lt;br /&gt;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:&lt;br /&gt;

This position is open to candidates with no semiconductor growth experience but who have process development experience (preferably semiconductor processing, but not required).  New or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.&lt;br /&gt;

BS or MS in Electrical , Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics  or related technical field; new or recent college graduates are encouraged to apply. &lt;br /&gt;

- EIT/PE registration desired but not required; preferably in Washington state.&lt;br /&gt;
- Experience with the kraft pulp mill.&lt;br /&gt;
- Black liquor evaporator experience is desired.&lt;br /&gt;
- Heavy industrial experience required; pulp and paper experience is preferred.&lt;br /&gt;
- Must be team-oriented, have strong communication skills, ability to organize and multi-task, and willingness to interact with clients.&lt;br /&gt;
- Willingness to travel to industrial job sites throughout the world (typically 1 to 3 weeks in the field annually).&lt;br /&gt;

- &lt;!--d--&gt;Designing and conducting experiments to develop doping/ implant/material modification processes for micro and nanotechnology.&lt;br /&gt;
- Demonstrated abilities in project management, leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, hardware and systems design, experimentation and equipment development are essential.&lt;br /&gt;
- Hands-on experience with advanced process development, qualification, sustaining and troubleshooting of plasma processes and equipment.&lt;br /&gt;
- Fosters collaboration with current and potential university partners.&lt;br /&gt;
- Generation of technical reports, Intellectual Property and presentations.&lt;br /&gt;
- Responsible for making presentations at national/international conferences and customer sites.&lt;br /&gt;
- Familiar with material analysis metrology (SIMS, XRD, Ellipsometry, AFM, SEM, TEM, XPS, FTIR, Auger etc).&lt;br /&gt;
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, both domestically and internationally.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Job Qualifications:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Ph.D. in Physics, Material Science, Chemistry or Engineering with experience in plasma processing as well as any or all of the following areas: &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Wet chemistry, thermal processing, thin films and surface chemistry&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in plasma technology or a related field is required.&lt;br /&gt;
- Must have strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).&lt;br /&gt;
