The Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) at the University of Oklahoma (OU) is currently looking to hire a research scientist in radar signal processing to support and further strengthen its rapidly growing sponsored research in DoD- and weather-related radar. This person will support the research mission of the ARRC by providing technical expertise to existing research projects, by supporting the development of new strategic capabilities, and by developing their own funded research program.

Required skills and proficiencies include:

1. PhD in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent military/work experience;

2. Proficiency in radar systems performance analysis, radar signal processing, algorithm development, radar simulation, and/or statistical & digital signal processing;

3. Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills;

Additional preferred skills and proficiencies:

The ARRC (http://arrc.ou.edu) is an interdisciplinary research center at OU specializing in radar systems for both meteorological and defense-related applications. The ARRC is part of a university strategic initiative in radar engineering that is currently undergoing significant growth. Several new faculty have recently been added (bringing the current total to 15 faculty in the center from both engineering and meteorology), and construction is currently underway on a ~35,000 sq-ft. building dedicated to radar research and development (http://arrc.ou.edu/ril.html). The new building will serve as a centralized laboratory for ARRC faculty, over 50 graduate students, many post-docs and visiting scientists, as well as the ARRC�s permanent administrative and technical staff. The new building will include a large microwave lab, high-bay garage for mobile radar development, prototype fabrication facilities, machine shop, and anechoic chambers. In order to support this growing initiative, multiple new hires are expected, including this current search for a research scientist in radar signal processing.

Summary:
In this position, you will be joining the Power and RF Fab Engineering Group with focus on production of GaN RF products. This position will be responsible for monitoring, sustaining and improving processes for GaN RF products, as well as supporting development of new GaN RF products. Responsibilities also include driving and supporting yield and cycle time improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
� This position requires significant cleanroom time working in conjunction with Fab process engineers.
� Owner of hold lot disposition and low yield lot investigation to meet product movement and revenue goals. Utilize 8D methodology to prevent future reoccurrences.
� Perform process experiments for yield improvements and to segment and identify yield detractors.
� Perform regular chart and data review to ensure performance of production material.
� Document manufacturing process flows, requiring clear written and verbal communication skills. Product documentation includes travelers, control plan, inspection requirements, and split lot instructions.
� Monitor and drive improvements in yield, cycle time, and long term reliability for GaN production.
� Operation and understanding of metrology, analytical tools, and software for data analysis and investigation of non-standard lots.
� Mentoring, coaching and training of process technicians and operators.
� Perform independently on routine assignments. Must be able to follow specific instructions to perform tasks that require a higher knowledge of engineering techniques in supporting GaN production requirements.

Required:
� Bachelor�s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science
� Candidate is subject to a US Government security screening
� 3+ years experience in semiconductor fabrication as a process engineer
� Able and willing to support 24x7 projects as needed
� Demonstrated understanding of the science and technology needed to fabricate semiconductor devices including ion implantation, oxide growth, diffusion, photolithography, wet and dry etch, thin film deposition and metal deposition.
� Excellent attention to detail
� High energy and self-motivated individual with strong communication skills to deliver results in a timely manner.

Preferred:
� General understanding of the process flow for inspection, monitoring and disposition of semiconductor products. GaN/SiC experience is a plus.
� Good working knowledge of semiconductor device physics.
� Ability to manage, in parallel, multiple technical tasks with different requirements and timelines.
� Familiarity with ANOVA, DOE principles, SPC techniques, JMP software. JMP scripting is a plus.
