We are searching for an ambitious and decisive Senior Project Manager to direct a team of professionals working on multiple, large-scale projects. We are hiring for our offices in Austin, TX, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, Columbus, OH, and Denver, CO. SAM, Inc. has an excellent relocation package in the event we find candidates open to relocate outside their local area.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating operations, including project managers, staff surveyors, technicians and field operations. Additionally, the successful candidate will be involved in business development and sales in the oil and gas pipeline industry. We are looking for someone with a unique mix of technical depth and business acumen to lead a multi-million dollar project team. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in a well-established organization with upward mobility at the senior staff level � including shareholder opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
� Establish work plan and staffing requirements for multiple large-scale projects
� Oversees writing of scope, budget, and QAQC
� Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
� Review performance data (financial, budgets, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels
� Monitor and develop professional staff to maximize their potential
� Establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the market area
� Develop and maintain positive client relationships
� Serves as Company representative at meetings and presentations

Required Experience, Education and Skills:
� 5+ years of progressive surveying and management experience
� Oil & Gas Pipeline experience preferred
� Professional Licensed Surveyor in one or more states
� Demonstrated leadership skills to manage multiple registered surveyors, technicians and field crews to deliver multi-disciplinary projects with fees between $5 - $10M
� Demonstrated success in business development, marketing, and networking
� Successful experience in contract negotiations, budgets, and fee estimates
� Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will be expected to be able to lead and work with a multidisciplinary team of Oil and Gas professionals, while conducting a wide variety of activities related to selected projects.

Job Responsibilities

The incumbent will:
� Provide programmatic and technical assistance to client programs in the areas of strategic facilities planning, capital investment planning, and construction program management.
� Conduct and coordinate independent project reviews and project performance assessment.

� Validate corrective actions; ensuring that project documentation is maintained over project/program life cycle

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

� A minimum of 10 years professional experience and at least 5 years project management experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
� Professional licensure or accreditation in the appropriate field (e.g., PE, LEED, PMP, and/or CCE/CCC).
� A fundamental knowledge of practices, theories, techniques and methods of quality management and organizational principles and practices.
� The ability to supervise, facilitate and provide leadership to a diverse group of project team members involved in a wide variety of technical, engineering, analytical, and management task areas as well as program functions and activities.
� Experience analyzing program funding and activity data for the development of performance metrics and tracking and reporting of program performance against established metrics and budget.
� Experience in leading strategic planning development and implementation, program integration, and in facilitating program planning meetings.
� Ability to work closely with a client to develop and continue to grow project plans for the current assignment/project and to develop long term and deep relationships.
� Demonstrated success managing/overseeing projects and delivering projects on-time and on-budget completion. International project management experience is strongly preferred.
� Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
� Outstanding communication skills. Bi-lingual language skills in both English and Spanish are desirable but not required.
� Ability to work in a team environment.
� This position will require travel to South America.

ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Requirements

Qualifications:
� Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in Chemical Engineering or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.
� 17+ years of professional experience in Process
� Oil and gas project , and/or gas plant experience
� Demonstrated supervisory experience supervising groups of process engineers in
� Emphasis on FEL/ FEED and detailed engineering projects.
� Fully versed with process simulation software such as HYSYS, PROMAX, ASPEN PLUS
� Background of mentoring less experienced engineers
� Strong previous experience in hydraulics and pressure relief analysis
� Process simulation and H&M Balances Equipment and Instrumentation Data Sheets PFD and P&ID development.
� Fully understands and assists with the planning and scheduling of process engineering tasks
and identifies potential problems
� Fully versed in the project change control changes.
� Strong client focus
� Demonstrated experience balancing resources on a number of simultaneous small projects with short schedules

Preferred Qualifications:
� PE License by exam ( or ability to obtain )
� Experience in onshore oil and gas production and gas fractionation plant facilities.
� Conceptual study, FEED and detailed engineering activities such as simulation, PFD, P&ID development
� Experience with oil and gas gathering including flowline gathering system simulation with analysis of well productivity and reservoir decline.
� Knowledge of oil/gas/water separation and gas/condensate separation, crude oil stabilization, gas compression, gas dehydration, gas sweetening and dewpoint control, gas fractionation plant, refrigeration, condensate stabilization.
� Project engineering management experience
� Experience with managing technologist interfaces
� EPC company experience
� Commissioning and Startup experience

This position will conduct facility evaluations for compliance with procedures and fire protection codes and standards, identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions and provide the necessary technical support to resolve issues. Evaluate alternate means and methods for achieving code compliance.

Job Responsibilities

� Review building designs for fire code compliance
� Plan review of life safety, fire suppression and fire alarm
� Write compliance and fire protection reports, if needed
� Participate independently in client contact (attend meetings, accomplish both oral and written communications, etc.)
� Establish project scope, budget, and necessary constraints and design approach relative to project manager / client requirements
� Prepare feasibility studies and cost estimates
� Conduct code reviews
� Review of documents for accuracy, completeness, and code compliance with standards and codes
� Review of product submittals (shop drawings) for design content, determination of action to be taken to reach specification compliance
� Coordinate mechanical trade efforts with other disciplines

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

� Bachelor's degree Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
� Professional Registration preferred
� CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist) a plus
� 10 + years or more related and progressively more responsible experience in fire protection systems design and mechanical engineering
� Knowledge of the fundamentals of fire protection design, including suppression systems and fire alarms
� Knowledge of fire protection equipment and distribution systems (sprinkler and standpipe mains/branches, fire and jockey pumps, etc.)
� Knowledge of construction documents, fire suppression and alarm systems for commercial structures, life safety code compliance and risk assessments
� Knowledge of work efforts required by other project related trades (Architectural, Structural, Civil, etc.)
� Able to accurately produce the required calculations and assemble and organize such into a project manual
� Knowledge of IC, IFC and NFPA codes and standards.
