Ability to conduct complex bench and pilot tests, perform technical calculations and research data.&lt;br /&gt;

The project director is the primary customer contact for one or more concurrent high-profile projects/customers. The project director leads a cross-functional project team often including multiple FLS entities during the proposal effort, and from the sale through fulfillment of all contract requirements. The project director has authority and responsibility to assist project teams across the FLS entities achieve contractual obligations, within the constraints of management structures and business realities. The project director must remain familiar with overall FLS strategies, product &amp; service offerings and must work with the customers and sales organizations to maximize FLS scope and financial benefits with the customer.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBIILITIES&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1.Primary customer contact for one or more concurrent high-profile projects/customers. &lt;br /&gt;
• Serve as the primary customer contact from pre-award through fulfillment of contractual obligations &lt;br /&gt;
• Maintain excellent client relations through high levels of technical ability, leadership and customer relations. &lt;br /&gt;
• Where appropriate, manage projects where intimate participation in the design is required.&lt;br /&gt;
• Obtain client approvals for necessary change orders as the scope of work changes.&lt;br /&gt;
• External Reporting, issue avoidance, problem resolution.&lt;br /&gt;
• Ensure work is completed and checked in accordance with procedures including meeting performance guarantees, and settlement of all financial matters. Secure client final acceptance of completed project.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2.Cross-functional team leadership of multiple FLS entities from pre-award to fulfillment of contractual obligations. &lt;br /&gt;
• Learn the project scope/commitments in detail &lt;br /&gt;
• Manage relevant contractual documentation including purchase orders, as-sold documents, schedule, scope and other commitments made. &lt;br /&gt;
• Define the team structures, resources and project specific practices and approaches to meet these commitments. &lt;br /&gt;
• Obtain team members from across the involved FLS entities and direct the cross-functional project teams through all phases of project execution &lt;br /&gt;
• Participate actively in team environment and contribute to successful completion of team goals - keeping in mind the essential nature of developing individuals for future growth within FLS. Be a role model for other team members, leading by good example.&lt;br /&gt;
• Establish internal/external (client) communications, issue avoidance, problem resolution approaches for execution of the work. &lt;br /&gt;
• Maintain financial oversight of the overall project based on input and review of financial reports from the various FLS entities. &lt;br /&gt;
• Review and approve client invoices; expedite client payments as required&lt;br /&gt;
• Review and approve all change orders, subcontracts, purchase orders, travel expenses and project staff expense accounts.&lt;br /&gt;
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report and follow up on all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
3.Take responsibility and exercise authority across the FLS entities to assist project teams achieve contractual obligations, within the constraints of management structures and business realities. &lt;br /&gt;
• Accept accountability for both individual and team performance.&lt;br /&gt;
4.Remain familiar with overall FLS strategies, product &amp; service offerings.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
5.Work with the customers/sales organizations to maximize FLS scope and financial benefits with the customer.&lt;br /&gt;
• Maintaining and/or improving as-sold project margin including the negotiation of change orders&lt;br /&gt;

Background/Experience:&lt;br /&gt;
• Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or business required (MBA preferred)&lt;br /&gt;
• Minimum 10 years team leadership/project management or equivalent experience for large projects with direct customer contact/responsibility working with industrial equipment and/or systems.&lt;br /&gt;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills on a technical level with excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills&lt;br /&gt;
• Second language skills provide a distinct advantage&lt;br /&gt;
• Site installation/commissioning experience is a plus &lt;br /&gt;
• Experience with manufacturing of large industrial equipment is a plus.&lt;br /&gt;
• PMP certification preferred&lt;br /&gt;
• Effective written/oral/telephone/video-conferencing/email/lync, communications skills essential.&lt;br /&gt;

TRAVEL, WORK ENVIRONMENT&lt;br /&gt;
• Frequent travel to domestic and international customer sites and offices and to FLS offices - often on a short-notice basis. Typical expectations are one (1) monthly customer visit, and one to two (1-2) visits with other FLS entities. Estimate 50% travel.&lt;br /&gt;

• Job duties will include work in office environments - at the home office location, customer, supplier and intercompany offices. Less frequently, visits to customer job sites (which may include remote international locations) and sub-supplier offices and factories. More than 75% of time will be in an office environment.&lt;br /&gt;

• Walking, climbing stairs, climbing on or around equipment, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, lifting (20).
