Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:

This individual will act as a lead project engineer or project manager for investigation, analysis, design and construction support for development of new dams and evaluation and modification of existing dams. Will direct and coordinate geotechnical engineering activities between clients, other URS engineering offices, and a variety of government agencies such as FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), the US Army Corps of Engineers and the US Bureau of Reclamation.

This position also provides lead geotechnical engineering services for hydroelectric and other water resources projects requiring geotechnical analyses of foundations, retaining walls, and earth embankments including analysis and evaluation of soil and rock slope stability, seepage, seismic displacement; liquefaction potential; and static and dynamic ground settlement behavior.
