POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: FMEA Production Engineer
Reports To: Director of Manufacturing Engineering
Classification: Exempt
Status: Regular, Fulltime
Location: Midland, MI

Job Summary:
The FMEA Production Engineer will develop, update, and own the Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis for all of manufacturing. Under the guidance of the Engineering Manager the role will lead teams to develop the PFMEA in all areas. Once the PFMEA is developed this role will maintain the PFMEA and update as needed for new products, equipment, and failure modes. This role will also be expected to assist production engineers in all areas with continuous improvement activities.

Primary Responsibilities:
The FMEA Production Engineer is accountable for the PFMEA being developed and updated with new products/processes and failure modes. When FMEA work is not being performed this person will assist with continuous improvement in all areas of the facility.
Become the subject matter expert using APiS IQ FMEA software.
Lead cross functional teams in all areas to fully develop a PFMEA for the whole facility.
Work closely with the R&D group to integrate the PFMEA with the DFMEA.
Work closely with the quality group to develop the product/process control plan.
Maintain the PFMEA for all new products, equipment, and failure modes.
Lead teams to develop continuous improvement needs defined by the PFMEA risk analysis.
Develop work instructions and procedures for support functions and manufacturing.
Assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions for any manufacturing issues as directed by the engineering manager.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum of BS in an engineering field.
5+ years of manufacturing plant experience
Experience with project management and technology improvement processes.
Has experience leading teams to develop FMEAs.
Hands-on problem solver and experience troubleshooting production equipment.
Experience with FMEA software a benefit.
Software skills including MS Office professional package, MS Project, and CAD.
Authorized to work in the U.S on a regular, full -time, permanent basis
Must successfully complete a background check and drug screen.
