Golder has a new opportunity for a Project Environmental Engineer to join our team in a Full-Time position in one of our Houston, Texas offices.
The position will entail working with upper-level managers to complete Golder technical projects. Duties will include managing office- and field-based tasks, performing investigations and preparing technical reports.
Your primary responsibilities may include:
Site characterization activities such as soil, groundwater, sediment, and/or surface water sampling and data interpretation;
Engineering design services for soil and groundwater remediation systems and other environmental systems, including feasibility studies, pre-design investigations and bid document preparation;
Construction quality assurance services for engineering projects;
Writing work plans, feasibility studies, technical reports, and managing budgets;
Coordinating with contractors to support project objectives;
Operating safely in the field (performing work safely is our highest priority);
Performing/supporting environmental compliance projects, including Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan (SPCC) preparation, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Preparation (SWPPP), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permitting;
Managing environmental site investigation, remediation, and/or compliance projects, including all budgets and deliverables;
Communicating with team members and clients; and
Mentoring junior staff and overseeing preparation of their reports and calculations.
Bachelor's in Environmental, Civil, or Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
Professional Engineer designation, or ability to obtain registration, in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
Ability to work independently and manage engineering task assignments and special projects simultaneously.
Ability to perform field-based tasks.
Availability for overnight travel.
Strong technical and communication skills.
Master’s in Environmental, Civil, or Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
Experience with implementation of assessment, investigation, remediation and monitoring tasks related to environmental projects.
Experience in environmental consulting.
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
