Finally, it involves working with Production departments to engineer or plan effective production methods and lean building processes.
Candidates with a strong Mechanical Engineering background will focus on engineering and designing mechanical systems, piping, HVAC and other machinery for the vessel. Candidates with prior Electrical Engineering experience will concentrate on the creation of electrical wiring diagrams, industry standards and regulations, electrical load analysis for AC and DC systems, lighting systems, fire detection systems, etc.
Candidates with prior Engineering or Project Management experience in a Marine environment are greatly preferred. A bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar field is required.
