Overview
Performs a wide range of highly technical and project management duties associated with the support of company networks and systems. This is a full-time, highly technical and professional position. It is distinguished by the requirement to demonstrate expertise in project management, network design, implementation, security, maintenance, support and overall knowledge of Client/Server, network, hardware, database and software integration.

Qualifications
Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP, routing protocols, layer 2 and layer 3 devices, firewalls, load balancers, etc.

Ability to design, build, troubleshoot:
Storage Area Networks, Servers, Networks, Firewalls, Routers, Wireless devices and end user devices.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Technologies:
Active Directory, Server, Desktop, Exchange and SQL. Ability to maintain and troubleshoot.
Ability to design and implement backup/recovery technologies.
Ability to formulate strategies, plans and testing for recovery and continuity of all business systems.
Ability to support a wide variety of applications.
Experience and advanced knowledge of visualization technologies:
vMware and HyperV

Responsibilities
Directs multifunctional teams, vendors and end users in large complex projects. Provides project costs, design concepts, or changes. Evaluates current or emerging technologies. Makes recommendations and implements solutions. Is able to use independent judgment and recommend solutions based on factors like cost, complexity and time.
Sets standards for security/backups of network, server and related devices. Develops, changes and modifies procedures regarding configuration of all vital computing equipment. Performs audits to ensure optimal performance, reliability and a secure environment. Has primary responsibility to ensure all systems, all data types, software, hardware, configurations and documentation are backed up properly. Provides and creates documented backup and restore procedures. Runs regular tests and reviews results with Director quarterly.
Collaborates with engineers, system administrators, software developers, users and management to select appropriate design solutions or to ensure the compatibility of system components. Maintains AD for efficiency and security. Changes, safeguards and audits DNS, DHCP, and other vital network services.
Handles and manages multiple projects and tasks. Capable of communicating effectively with diverse teams. Makes decisions and solves problems while working under pressure and timelines.
Monitors use of computer systems to ensure efficient utilization. Identifies inadequate or inefficient systems, bottlenecks, or performance problems and suggests alternatives to reduce costs or increase efficiences. Responds promptly to disruption of services, communicating effectively to user, vendors, management and team members.
Follows/develops standards, policies and procedures. Educates and directs subordinates to follow, implement and monitor above. Creates and maintains documentation on systems and process flows. Develops daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual audits, checklists and preventative measures.
Maintains, plans, tests and/or executes disaster recovery procedures for all systems, servers, applications, LAN/WAN hardware. Coordinates and leads team and vendors in this effort.
Enforces, monitors, and remedies security to meet PCI/DSS, Privacy and HIPPA requirements. Uses and sets standards for secure protocols like SSH, HTTP, and SSL not allowing clear test protocols like FTP, HTTP, Telnet, etc.
Enforces licensing agreements; oversees network security and performs LAN/WAN auditing.
Configures and defines parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), switches, routers, firewalls, servers, SANs, virtualization technology, D2D back-up, load balancers, or related network equipment. Documents and keeps technical documentation current.
Performs installation and maintenance of all network servers; supervises the installation, configuration and maintenance of all desktop, laptop and notebook computers. Implements, in accordance with best practices, high availability, reliability, performance and accepted security standards. Ensures all patches, firmware and regular preventive maintenance is performed routinely.
Keeps abreast of new developments in technical areas; monitors available hardware and software products from outside vendors and makes recommendations to management personnel in the use of such products. Refers to hardware and software manuals, policy and procedure manuals, product catalogs, system manuals, specifications, trade journals, architectural drawings, computer documentation, etc.
