This position is for a Spring/Summer Co-oP to support a Material and Process engineer and other staff working in the Component and Materials Evaluation Laboratory (CAMEL). The CAMEL team is responsible for the qualification, test, and failure analysis of components and materials. This intern will be working directly with a Material & Process Engineer mentor who will provide guidance, direction and assignments. Responsibilities include: material analysis related to qualification, failure investigations, testing of components or materials, analysis, and documentation. Depending on the workload, support will also be provided to the mechanical commodity. Tasks may include but are not limited to various adhesion tests, tensile testing, FTIR, hardness testing, cross sectioning, X-Ray Fluorescence, X-Ray, Thermal Analysis, and microscope work. Daily work requires the ability to perform required testing, complete design of experiment, safely handle chemicals, accurately record data, perform data analysis and prepare a technical summary or conclusion.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field of study from an accredited institution
Must have GPA of 3.0
Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework
US Citizenship required
