PLANT MANAGER (Iron River)
PLANT/DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing Admin DIRECTED BY: VP of Operations
IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Shop Floor Teams, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Plant Maintenance, Program Management
DIRECTS: Team Leaders, Production Control, Manufacturing Engineers and Inventory Specialists
Direct and manager all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production maintenance, quality and other production related activities.
Ensure safety procedures are understood and followed.
Direct and manage plant operations.
Implement controls to effectively manage plant expenditures and expenses.
Monitor product standards and supporting quality control programs.
Monitor the production processes and maximize resource utilization to ensure schedules are met.
Encourage, implement and drive continuous improvement activities
Coach and develop employees to ensure their skills and talents are maximized and the company’s objectives are met.
Hire, give effective performance reviews, maintain culture of trust and respect with and for employees
Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, process modifications
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
Must have excellent communication skills
Deep understanding of heavy manufacturing in a low-production-rate environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
Must be able to stand, sit, for long periods
