Be a part of state-of-the-art analysis for space & missile systems at Lockheed Martin Space. Work on meaningful analyses involving structures, materials and strategic missile defense and space flight systems.
As a mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible for performing antenna mechanical design and analysis, CAD modeling and drafting supporting development of antenna assemblies, supporting structure, and equipment layouts, models and drawings for antenna mechanical design. You will create detailed CAD drawings, run automated CAD programs and generate 3D models using CREO. You will work under the direction of a lead design engineer and with a team of experienced antenna designers. Your other related responsibilities include performing interference checking, and configuration control in an CAD environment; employ industry standard dimensioning practices and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME standards. You will drive drawing releases and perform/approve design changes. Other related responsibilities include providing technical memos and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews.

- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field or MS
- Proficient with mechanical CAD modeling and drafting
- Mechanical hardware design, manufacturing and integration experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication and assembly
- Demonstrated knowledge of other disciplines including stress, dynamics, thermal analysis, production, assembly and test operations, electronics, systems engineering, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to obtain US government security clearance
- Experience with space materials and processes
- Experience with test methods, planning and execution
- Proficiency with CREO
- Additive manufacturing experience
- Ability to perform initial mechanical analyses
- Master's degree
