The candidate will provide Operations engineering support for moderate to complex equipment in manufacturing clean room environment. The candidate will support Equipment sustaining activities, process improvement and implementation activities and GMP validation assignments. Engineering and Operations activities may include planning, developing, designing, documentation, troubleshooting, installation and/or any other aspect of Engineering or Operations work.
Functional Description: Technical Individual Contributors
Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
Applies basic technical understanding with the knowledge to develop process and design experiments. Possesses theoretical knowledge, but is learning the industry and requirements of applied science. Understands organizational and functional processes and policies.
Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency. Works on problems of basic scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of data factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Normally receives instructions on all work and work output it supervised.
Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Sr. Engineers to plan, design, develop and execute production improvement projects including all necessary documentation.
Support improvement changes through implementation on production equipment/processes, fixtures/jigs. Collect data to document improvement in product quality, increase productivity or costs reductions.
Use Solidworks to create models and drawings for equipment design changes, concepts.
Hands on investigation and troubleshoot manufacturing issues. Perform Engineering Studies.
Help create validation IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, test protocols. Execute protocols and write reports to ensure equipment/processes meet part/assembly specifications and regulatory requirements.
Provide training and coaching to technicians on new and existing procedures
Collaborates and communicates with company interdepartmental groups including Regulatory, Quality Assurance, R&D and Process Engineering.
Work with Dexcom suppliers on equipment/fixture installations and support for their operations.
Use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, statistical tools and Solidworks.
Strong mechanical equipment development background
Demonstrated mechanical tooling and fixture design.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
Experience in working in clean room environments.
Working knowledge of using machine vision for inspection.
Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and maintain timelines.
Flexibility in a changing environment.
Detail oriented and organized.
