We are looking for a Product Development Engineer or a Research Scientist to join our experienced and growing R&D group at the Oakdale, Minnesota site. This individual will work to enhance our effort in the development of innovative new product and solution extensions of our Kodak Flexcel solutions for continued growth in Flexographic printing applications.
Collaboratively work with R&D team members to analyze flexographic printing plates, imageable films and other related products to ensure conformance with product specifications.
Trouble shoot product performance issue relating to manufacturing process and product release specifications.
Perform various physical and mechanical tests and identify new test methods
Make flexographic printing plates using all types of pre-press equipment, such as Imaging device, lamination, UV exposure, and plate processing equipment.
Collect, store, analyze data and submit reports and summaries.
Ensure all proper procedures are followed for safety, reliability and consistency of the data.
Collect print performance data, analyze and submit reports.
Actively participate in cross-functional product development and commercialization teams.
Lead small technical teams
Manufacturing support as needed
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Materials Science or a related degree
Good problem solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills to work with a team of professionals, while making individual technical contributions.
Occational travel to the manufacturing sites to support factory trials.
Experience with pre-press file preparation for imaging and printing is a plus.
Product scale up and commercialization experience is a plus.
Prefer candidates with some related internship/industry experience, but will consider recent graduates
