We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who is willing to become part of a team responsible for developing, testing and documenting new products for Hamilton Storage. Products range from fully automated storage equipment to simple hand held instruments. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a team environment, self-motivated and have a good understanding of new product development.
Generate novel concepts, design new product mechanisms, sub-assemblies, and packaging; perform rigorous and in-depth engineering analysis; generate detailed designs, drawings, and documentation packages.
Identify and select new technologies and vendors, outsource parts and assemblies (off the shelf components, custom items, and fabricated parts).
Must be hands on; assemble, troubleshoot, debug, and qualify subsystems and components. Resolve design issues as appropriate.
Clearly and concisely express and document ideas, options, problems, issues, test results, etc.
Develop the required documentations during the development and for transfer to production (models, detail drawings, diagrams, BOM, assembly procedures, etc.). Generate meticulous, detailed, and thorough documentations.
Ensure that the specifications, schedule, and the budget have been met.
Provide support to manufacturing after product release.
Travel to Hamilton sites and support customer sites and installs (Travel 10-15%).
Must work well in a team environment.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
2 plus years of experience with capital/process equipment and small products with significant mechanisms and robotics automation.
Completed a minimum of two product life cycles (from concept to production) as a key contributor.
Demonstrated capability to perform engineering analysis and familiarity with commonly used analysis tools (e.g. FEA, DFX, etc.)
Good understanding in tolerance stock up analysis (GD&T).
Solid experience in designing robotics, mechanisms for automation, and complex electro-mechanical products.
Extensive machine design experience, preferably containing precision moving parts and complex mechanism and assemblies, is required.
Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication processes for metals and commonly used plastics. Sheet metal and plastic injection design experience is required.
Experience integrating industrial design and human factors in design is desired.
Experienced user of SolidWorks CAD, PDM program and ProEngineer Creo, Windchill.
ISO 9000, ISO 13485, and FDA/cGMP experience is a plus.
Must have a strong work ethic and good written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter, must be able to work independently with minimum supervision or direction.
Ability to supervise, mentor and lead junior engineers and project teams.
