The Senior Machine Builder performs a wide variety of technical functions in various aspects of the mechanical fields. The main objective of this position is to assemble, debug, install, accept runs, and complete machines and systems of custom automation equipment.
10- 15 years of experience in Machine Building, integration, Journeyman Tool Maker, or equivalent. Solid Mechanical Aptitude. Automation industry experience with custom design per application systems. PLC knowledge is a definite plus. CAM technology is strongly desired and can be added advantage. A valid driver's license is required.
Job duties include redlining technical documents with the approval of the system owner and version control. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager of Teamtechnik Corporation.
Specific Responsibility:
Assume a lead role in building automated equipment and have the ability to direct others.
Coordinate with the Lead Electrician the sequence of wiring and assembly of equipment.
Maintain ownership and lead multiple machines/ systems throughout the entire project life cycle.
Assign specific tasks to team members to achieve goals and milestones.
Work closely with and provide direction (when necessary) to assembly teams, builders, electricians, and programmers throughout the entire project life cycle.
Attend Internal Design Reviews to add input into machine conception and functionality. Participate in vendor on-site acceptance.
Debug the entire machine, with engineering, as necessary.
Adjust cam timing, rotary positions (i.e. indexing units) as necessary.
Machine parts and make necessary assembly modifications as required, interfacing with engineering when changes are major or of a critical nature, and provide red-line back to engineering using proper and approved procedures.
Extensive knowledge of pneumatic functions, devices, and fittings, to achieve desired results.
Record changes to machine parts and assemblies on engineering drawings.
Provide information for machine technical documentation. Perform in-house acceptance run-off. Install and service machines at customer's site as required.
Train customer’s personnel on machine operations and maintenance.
General Responsibility:
Represent Team Technik in a professional manner while at the customer's site. Maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives. Comply with and maintain ISO-readiness Certification Requirements.
Be able to use Inspection and Measurement tools: Vernier, caliper, scales, tape measure as well as Hand tools like wrenches, pliers, power drills, hammers, and screwdrivers. Lead the SAT activities
Participate in tear down and shipping of equipment. Travel to customers sites as required for installation and reintegration of systems.
