You will create cryogenic fluid dynamics and subsystem
performance models to analyze and design the
performance of cryogenic propulsion system and run
cases to support new spacecraft and launch vehicle
cryogenic fluid systems and operational schemes. You will
generate technical memos, provide guidance to data
packages to support peer and customer reviews and
present analysis results to internal engineering teams,
customer technical representatives, and Program Office
personnel during technical exchange meetings. You will lead test campaigns designed to validate your analytical models. You will act as a liaison, engaging with customer representatives to establish a partnership to develop solutions to cryogenic fluid management for spacecraft. You will support senior engineers in validating hardware and
components used in cryogenic fluid systems including valves, instrumentation, refrigeration systems
(cryocoolers), heat exchangers, storage vessels, etc.
Under the guidance of a Principal Engineer, you will
support new spacecraft and launch vehicle cryogenic
fluid systems design, development, and test schemes
through product life cycles.

- General knowledge of thermodynamics preferably related to cryogenic materials
- General understanding of the manufacturing processes of cryogenic fluid systems
- Knowledge of the hazards of working with cryogenic
fluids and high pressure gases.
- Familiarity with hardware and components used in
cryogenic fluid systems
- Experience using a CAD system (preferably CREO
Parametric) for design of cryogenic fluid systems
- Experience using analysis tools such as Thermal
Desktop, MATLAB, Fluent, Etc.
- Extensive knowledge and experience defining,
designing and analyzing cryogenic fluid systems for
manned spacecraft and launch vehicle applications
including but not limited to propulsion, ECLSS, In-situ
resource utilization and/or long-term storage methods.
- Strong understanding and application of the
thermodynamic and heat transfer properties of cryogenic
fluids notably LH2, LO2 and Liquid Methane.
- Strong understanding of cryogenic materials
compatibility and applications
- Extensive knowledge of hardware and components
used in cryogenic fluid systems including valves,
instrumentation, refrigeration systems (cryocoolers),
heat exchangers, storage vessels, etc.
