Full time, first shift. Evenings and weekends would not be typical but maybe be needed for special projects.
Our Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) team consists of individuals who specialize in clinical engineering, equipment service, medical device IT, and radiation safety.
Our clinical engineering group:
- assures policies, processes, and systems are in place to enable effective and efficient operations for our medical equipment services departments,
- coordinates equipment planning, assessment, and budgeting with supply chain and finance,
- serves as a liaison to IT on medical device integration, security, and risk.
- provides support for our radiation safety program in collaboration with the Medical College of Wisconsin.
We are looking for a Clinical Engineer who can manage projects, solve problems, and improve processes in a multidisciplinary technical environment. Candidates with familiarity or specific experience with imaging technology, radiation safety, and radiation physics are encouraged to apply.
Coordinates operations associated with the Healthcare Technology Management which includes Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Engineering. Duties include service operations, project management, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and other administrative functions as necessary. Service operations will include, equipment database administration, service strategies, staffing allocations, training roadmap, documentation, and contract management. Project management will include technology assessment, implementation, and quality improvement initiatives. Financial management will include purchasing, service budgeting, tracking, and reporting as well as capital life cycle planning. Regulatory compliance includes adherence to all appropriate standards and regulations through the use of a medical equipment management program.
At least 1-year experience with biomedical devices in a hospital setting. Experience can include servicing, procurement, planning, assessing, managing, or other related activities. 3 years’ experience with medical equipment management programs and equipment database applications is preferred. Familiarity with imaging technologies preferred. Basic financial concepts are preferred.
A Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical fields. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, certification by the American College of Clinical Engineering as a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) will be accepted.
Technical training in imaging technology is preferred.
Excellent project management skills and great attention to detail. Strong analytical skills and critical thinking ability. Excellent written and verbal communication. Basic knowledge of MS Excel and related applications. Experience with the use or administration of a medical equipment CMMS, equipment database, or similar application preferred.
