The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for helping to develop and implement novel and improved manufacturing processes to ensure the most efficient production of products for the INFICON Service Tools business line. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical assemblies, tooling and fixtures, testing and verification, lean manufacturing and statistical control methodologies are critical to drive continuous improvement. You will also assist in supervising production personnel, systems and activities associated with the manufacturing and assembly of instruments for the Service Tools business line in Syracuse, NY.
Maximize product quality, production yields and productivity while minimizing operational costs.
Develop, evaluate and improve operational methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tool and equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality standards.
Work with suppliers to maximize the utilization of delivered materials per quality standards.
Initiate required corrective actions within the global supply chain to minimize waste and reduce costs.
Investigate and resolve operational issues in a collaborative, team based environment using systems, statistical data and logic.
Collaborate with engineering and other functional departments across multiple geographies to produce new products and implement design and process changes.
Work along and when needed train Service Tools production employees to maximize product quality and production efficiencies within the department.
Coordinate manpower requirements with the production planner by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing customer delivery demands.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
Will consider candidates with an Associates Degree coupled with 3+ years experience
2 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment, process, operations or related engineering related role.
Proven experience with manufacturing methods and procedures, product lifecycle management and manufacturing systems. SAP or similar ERP system knowledge is highly preferable.
Demonstrated ability to be a team leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven analytical and process problem solving skills.
