Product Development Engineer –
Zeeland, MI –
We are currently searching for a Product Development Engineer with strong experience using Creo to join our Zeeland, Michigan, Engineering Team at DISHER! This is an internal, full-time role.
About the Team:
The DISHER Engineering and Design Team utilizes the latest engineering practices and technology to ensure the functionality, durability and reliability so that a product not only looks good but works well – time after time after time. Our focus is to engineer robust products that are aesthetically pleasing, cost effective, able to be manufactured, and profitable.
What you will get to do:
Up-stream, early product development projects using Creo.
Take customer input and develop a design that can meet the customer’s needs.
Consult with DISHER customers by providing recommendations to changes which will improve their products.
Live the DISHER culture by exceeding customer expectations and making a positive difference.
Work on-site at the customer’s location and acclimate to their design team.
Work with a cross-functional team with disciplines such as marketing, manufacturing, and industrial design.
Prototype parts to show proof-of-concept for your designs.
Over time, work on a wide variety of products in a wide variety of industries.
Assist teammates on their design projects.
What will make you successful in this role:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering degree required
Minimum of 2 to 5+ years in new product development and design engineering experience required
Possess a minimum 4,000 hours of Creo solid modeling experience
Furniture, Medical, and Automotive industry experience is preferred
Being a life-long learner
Familiarity with multiple manufacturing processes (plastic injection molding, metal stamping and forming, etc) is preferred
Experience in surfacing in Creo would be a plus
Prior Customer interface experience is preferred
Prior Nerf gun reloading experience is preferred, but not required
Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to be innovative are required
Desire to Make a Positive Difference in the world
Must have current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
