This technical professional's responsibility is to design, develop or improve manufacturing processing with respect to safety, quality and productivity. These improvements will drive increased efficiencies, outputs, adherence to quality specifications and overall business profitability. The Process Engineer may work individually, as part of a team, or lead a team. The Process Engineer will participate as necessary in any improvements directed by the organization, including Operational Excellence initiatives.


  • Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to optimize safety, quality, productivity and profitability
  • Manages process improvement projects with respect to time, personnel and budgets
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes to optimize safety, quality, productivity and profitability of new products along with the team of product developers.
  • Assist sales, quality or manufacturing with detailed analysis of problems; recommends solutions after review and collection of supporting data
  • Researches, studies and recommends new equipment, processes or technology
  • Assures product and process quality by designing test/measurement methods, helps establish standards and insures manufacturing process is statistically capable
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Analyzes existing processes:

  • Ability to study existing processes
  • Knowledgeable in operations and capabilities of equipment
  • Understand end use of product and process
  • Utilizes statistical data to show current process capabilities
  • Seeks input from others to complete understanding of process

Develops plans for improvement:

  • Designs and develops plan for improvement
  • Communicates and develops buy-in for process improvement
  • Manages plan for process change with respect to time, personnel and budgets
  • Delivers data of completed process change
  • Implements procedures to monitor processes changed to sustain improvement

Assists with specific needs of business (quality, sales, product, customers):

  • Contributes individually or in a team with respect to problem solutions
  • Uses specific skills (six sigma/lean) to assist in problem solving
  • Communicates well, timely and with all members of team

Researches new solutions:

  • Conducts research for new solutions to problems
  • Communicates internally and externally to the company in search of new equipment, processes or technology
  • Recommends new solutions to peers and management in appropriate format
  • Justifies recommendations with data


Experience Required:

  • At least 3-5 years of manufacturing process engineer experience
  • At least 2 years of leading process improvement projects
  • Minimal travel requirements
  • Fluent in written and oral English
  • Excellent computer skills

Experience/Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline
  • Certified in Lean/Six Sigma principles, SPC certification,
  • Minitab and Microsoft Office software user
  • Textile manufacturing process experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
