Work Schedule: 7:00am – 3:30pm
As a Work Management intern the student will gain hands-on experience in the field of Contract Management and learn about the efficient, effective, timely, and safe construction of Transmission and Distribution facilities. The student will interact with contractors, engineers, and OPPD’s T&D construction center’s for the purpose of constructing new residential developments and overhead line rebuilds, and for the maintenance of distribution systems by coordinating underground cable replacements and pole replacements in accordance with our GLIT program. Experience will also be gained in the area of coordinating and communicating contractor work schedules, ensuring contract compliance, assisting supply chain with the development of new construction contracts, and developing performance measures and tracking productivity. Student will split time working in an office environment, attending meetings, and traveling throughout OPPD’s 13 county territory to coordinate contractor work activities.
Specific fields of study required: Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management
2.5 GPA or higher is required
Completed Junior year course work
Current full-time student attending an accredited college/university
Technical Ability (i.e. software): Microsoft Word/Excel, Primavera
