Southwest Regional Engineer Job Description

The successful candidate will be actively involved in all aspects of Nacelle’s engineering and operational activities. This employee will report directly to Nacelle’s Vice President of Operations and Engineering while working primarily in Southwest office with company equipment on drilling, completions, midstream and production sites for multiple oil and gas companies predominately in L48 as well as assisting with the design of various Oil & Gas and Bio Gas equipment. In addition to some field work, this position will be heavily involved in applications engineering and project planning, including making real time assessments and adjustments to project plans and engineering designs to maximize system performance. Working in the oil & gas field is extremely challenging and therefore an unrelenting focus on working safely in all activities is paramount. With a customer centric focus, Process Engineers must possess a strong desire to learn, a strong capacity for attention to detail and must possess the desire to gain the knowledge and ability to assist in accurately diagnosing operational issues as well as aide in implementing solutions.

Responsibilities

· Work with Nacelle VP of Operations and Engineering on design, set-up, operation, performance, trouble shooting, and maintenance of various gas process equipment to maximize performance and results

· Work with Nacelle Southwest Regional VP to find solutions for customers and grow the business

· Work with Clients and Technicians in the field to identify system requirements

· Work with venders to spec out and purchase equipment as needed

· Assist in development of various job aides and SOP’s

· Assist in development of various inspection reports

· Assist in development of new equipment and continuous improvement with existing equipment.

· Keep track of various technical documents including material test reports, relief valve sizing calculations, NDE reports, and pressure test documentation

· Assist in managing parts room and keep updated equipment list for current and upcoming jobs

· Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements

· Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence

· Regular and predictable attendance

· Operate company vehicle

  • Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline relevant to the gas industry from an ABET accredited school is required.

· 3+ years’ experience in natural gas pipeline and or natural gas processing facility design engineering is strongly preferred.

· Possess solid understanding of pipeline and gas process design engineering, including pressure ratings, over pressure protection devices, emergency shut down devices, metering, etc.

· Possess solid understanding of operations and maintenance of various gas field process equipment, including pressure control devices, line heaters, gas meters, gas compression units, filtration vessels, and remote monitoring equipment

· Ability to pass customer, company, and regulatory safety and operator qualification programs

· Possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s, PFD’s and other construction and fabrication drawings
  • Ability to recognize various aspects of natural gas pipeline and natural gas process facility features and functions.

· Required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to being hired

· Competencies, skills, and abilities:

o Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimum supervision

o Basic computer skills of MS Office, operating systems, company software, some PLC and HMI controls

o Basic math skills (algebra, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals)

o Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

o Good verbal and written communication skills

o Customer focus

o Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules

o Must be self-directed and possess the ability to perform duties with little to no supervision

o Ability to speak and understand English.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

Regularly required to:

  • Talk and hear; verbally express ideas, information, and instructions
  • Have the ability to work around loud to moderate noise
  • Climb stairs and ladders to elevated workspaces
  • Lift, pull, push, or carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds regularly and up to seventy five (75) pounds occasionally

Occasionally required to:

  • Perform site visits & meetings with client representatives for accurately identifying and determining equipment set up Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Use hand tools and equipment, including but not limited to repetitive hand use such as simple grasp and twisting motion
  • Stand/walk for long periods of time without a break
  • Remain seated in a normal position for up to half the workday
  • Work in low-lit areas

Miscellaneous:

· Candidate must live in Texas or New Mexico

· Must be available to work all shifts and schedules

· Will be required to work in all climate conditions

· Travel will be required

· Will be required to participate and qualify for a variety safety training programs

· This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug testing
