What You Will Do
Gannett Fleming is looking for a Civil Track Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles supporting our Transit and Rail Global Business Line. The Civil/Track Engineer will support our Transit & Rail Systems Division, a nationally recognized leader in railroad planning, design, project management and construction management. The primary duties of the Track Engineer are to support Rail Project Managers and other Engineers within our rail group in the development of track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of rail related projects including mainline, industrial, yard and terminal projects with Class 1 railroads, shortlines industrial and transit clients. Civil and track engineering assignments include alignments, drainage, structural, and utilities tasks. Project support may include development of project scope, budget, schedule, design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls. Although the position is primarily focused on freight rail, the candidate will also provide support to our rail transit group. Candidates with roadway design experience may also support our highway group, as needed.
Include preparation of contract drawings, specifications, reports and related documents for transit and railroad clients.
Interaction with other design disciplines and local jurisdictions will be required.
The successful candidate will support ongoing projects and existing project teams.
BS in Civil Engineering required, MS in Civil Engineering preferred
EIT required, PE preferred
4+ years of experience rail design experience
Strong interest in transportation design - railroad projects preferred
Demonstrated hands-on experience using AutoCAD or Microstation required
MS Office Applications experience is required
Experience using InRoads
