Position Summary: Develops new products to bring to market.
Works with cross functional team across various locations to develop project requirements, schedule, and budget using project management software.
Drives project tasks and deliverables in accordance with project schedule and ensures all activities are completed on time and properly by running meetings, updating project plan documents, and escalating and resolving project issues.
Produces conceptual designs in 3D CAD and directs creation of final design documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, specification documents, and bills of material.
Directs and coordinates creation of technical literature.
Maintains design records in accordance with sound design practice and ISO requirements.
Prepares and presents reports and presentations as needed.
Conducts feasibility, cost, risk, optimization, stress, fluids, and thermal analyses to support design decisions.
Ensures product design and project direction are aligned with company’s product offerings, latest technology developments, general industry and specific agency approval requirements, and the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
Resolves existing and new product issues through root-cause analysis; design of experiments; test plan creation; testing; analysis of operational, test, and research data; conferring with other technical functions; and updating designs.

Language Skills: Ability to understand scientific and technical journals, industry standards documents, and intellectual property documents. Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to prepare presentations, reports, and articles for publication, and present to management and/or other groups. Ability to run efficient meetings, including creating agendas and minutes.
Mathematical Skills: Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply advanced math concepts from algebra and calculus, including, but not limited to exponents, logarithms, trigonometry, polynomial equations/solutions, and statistics. Ability to apply these concepts to such tasks as the determination of test reliability and validity, the analysis of variance, correlation, sampling, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Software Proficiency: 3D and 2D CAD (Solidworks preferred), FEA analysis, Microsoft Office, project management tools
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, with at least three years of related experience; or seven years of related experience, at least two years of which will have been in charge of engineering work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of two years of project management experience.
Preferred Experience: A background in the design, engineering, or manufacturing of piping related equipment including couplings, flanges, fittings, pumps, valves, or pressure vessels is preferred.
