Facebook is looking for a Storage Engineer that is passionate about technology, solving complex business challenges, and ready to reimagine how storage services can be designed and delivered. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting infrastructure at scale, and building tooling and automation for provisioning, monitoring, and managing the environment. This position will be part of the Enterprise Engineering Storage team that creates, implements and supports solutions enabling the company to grow rapidly and connect the world.
Understand application and business requirements to create storage service offerings that enable the company's continued growth and wide variety of business use cases.
Manage storage infrastructure and services consisting of a mixture of enterprise appliances, networks, and open source technologies.
Develop tooling to automate deployment and management of large scale storage environments, to automate operational monitoring and alerting, and to enable self-service consumption of storage resources.
4+ years of experience with Enterprise Storage (with SAN -or- NAS specialty), with platforms such as NetApp, Pure, Nimble, 3PAR, Infinidat, EMC (Isilon, XtremIO, VMAX/Hypermax), among others.
Solid understanding of one or more storage protocols including NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, and FC, as well as various storage hardware types (all-flash, hybrid, etc.).
Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing a geo-dispersed storage infrastructure.
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical field or 4+ years equivalent experience.
Experience with deployment automation and configuration management frameworks such as Chef or Ansible.
Experience with server virtualization and/or container platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, KVM, Xen, and Docker.
