Unreal Engine 4/5 Senior Programmer
About the Position:
Visual Purple is looking for a UE4 Senior Programmer for full-time on-site work at our Boise, Idaho office. This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate would have experience working with Unreal Engine 4/5 in creating compelling gameplay elements and design, blueprinting/coding experience, mentoring junior programmers, and the desire and drive to perform a varied set of roles within a game studio.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work with Directors and Leads to create compelling and effective gameplay driven training.
- Design and develop game system architecture and documentation.
- Help identify and address issues during production.
- Create game systems from architecture design to implementation.
- Create and implement new functionality in existing live game systems.
- Mentor junior programmers and other members of the Programming Team in all things related to game programming.
Requirements:
- *A minimum of 5+ years professional game programming experience or equivalent.
- *Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree.
- Advanced C++ skills.
- Experience designing and implementing game system architectures.
- Knowledge and proficiency with UE4 Blueprinting.
- Experience working within existing products and understanding how to expand their feature set and functionality.
- Experience developing for VR.
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to perform continuous integration, configuration management, version control, and testing.
- Passion for developing engaging, intuitive, and stable VR experiences.
Desired Skills:
- Experience reviewing junior team members’ code to ensure high code integrity.
- Experience with Client / Server environments related to game architecture.
- Experience maintaining a live game or service.
Position Details:
Full-time – on-site. Tuesday - Friday, 10-hour shift.
Salary depends on level experience and higher education level, starting at $110,000.
Remote available. Willing to travel to our Boise, Idaho studio.
Must be a US Citizen due to security clearance requirements.
