What You Will Do
The Maintenance Coordinator will provide logistic, expediting, and technical support to the Project Managers, Project Engineers and Procurement Engineers. Roles and Responsibilities of the Maintenance Coordinator will span a wide range of responsibilities over the technology development, helping with prototyping of equipment, design, procurement, installation and readiness scope, including:
Safety and security are a primary responsibility for all Laboratory employees. Assures safety and security compliance, maintains required safety and security training, , and makes safety and security an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.
Plans daily project activities within a nuclear facility between execution and programmatic activities.
Serve as the primary interface between the project manager and the construction manager.
Ensure coordination between support groups for field activities such as characterization and waste generation and facility equipment introductions and removals is seamless.
Participate and support the planning, coordination, and preparation of equipment installation and D&D projects.
Plans/Leads walk downs with Integrated Project Team(s) and A/E services provider
Lead with coordination of on the floor activities during project execution.
Provides direct or indirect support to the projects through the implementation and/or administrative control of a variety of projects programs, policies, functions, and objectives. Verifies that project activities are performed within technical specifications, manufacturer's requirements, and/or generally accepted industry practices.
Develops/Reviews reports to provide project management with the history and current status of project activities.
Advanced knowledge of project activities and programs.
Good Customer Service, must communicate well with customers and develop strong customer relations.
Effectively interface with all levels of management, peers, and craft personnel.
Lead Coordination of Field Change Requests and Request for Information submittals.
Lead in forecasting and planning resources necessary to support project activities.
Work rotating shifts when needed.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Advanced knowledge with nuclear facilities and managing facility and or project work.
Extensive knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
Full understanding of/and familiarity with the design, installation and startup of programmatic equipment and gloveboxes.
Extensive knowledge of Conduct of Operations in a nuclear facility.
Ability to conceptualize and professionally communicate elements of projects to both technical and non-technical components.
Ability to interact effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of personnel; building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts.
Full understanding of project management reporting.
Knowledgeable with SD 350, Project Management for Capital Asset Acquisition and Construction.
Knowledgeable of the Equipment Lifecycle Guide.
Knowledgeable of Quality Assurance/Quality Controls requirements.
Active Q Clearance
Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.

New-Employment Drug Test:

The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the one year of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
