The Instrument Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to their assigned refinery process areas and assigned projects. They will also be responsible for managing instrument focused projects, from conceptual engineering through detailed design, construction, and project completion.
Provides detailed engineering design and contractor supervision to ensure that capital and expense projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
Provides accurate analyzer, instrument and control systems specifications.
Monitors and directs activities of engineering and construction contractors for progress and quality to ensure compliance to company and industry standards.
Provides ongoing technical support to operations and maintenance departments
Provides cost estimates and preliminary engineering design work for the development and preparation of projects.
Evaluates, designs, specifies and makes cost estimates, to prepare and submit project AFE’s.
Designs, specifies and procures equipment for projects.
Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering required.
A minimum of two years of engineering experience in all phases of instrument and analyzer system design and installation required.
Control valve sizing and severe service applications, Smart Plant Instrumentation, PLC programming support, project management experience preferred.
