What you'll do:
The Senior Data Engineer is an internal, hands-on role to lead the integration of the financial systems with other enterprise systems. As an energetic self-starter, you will drive improvement to the cycle time, quality, automation and robustness of end to end financial processes by developing high-performance ETL processes. This role requires a combination of architecture, design, hands-on development and interworking with other teams/vendors to deliver the technology roadmap. You’ll strive for simplicity, and demonstrate significant creativity and good judgment.
Design, build, test, establish and maintain production quality, robust, monitored, fault tolerant ETL processes from source to target systems
Craft technical solutions and assemble design artifacts, such as solution design documents, data flow diagrams and data models
Quickly absorb, document and automate complex business rules
Work with system owners to define and deliver accurate, high quality data needed daily
Perform analysis to identify root causes of data discrepancies (people, process and/or system) and work with data owners to establish short term solutions and permanent corrective action
Ensure referential data integrity for quality & auditability, exception handling defined and in place
Enable system workflows needed to support billing work processes and other scenarios
Work with other teams on master data management initiatives
Own ETL change management and work proactively with data owners to ensure continuity of service
Work with Infrastructure, security and operations/support teams to ensure the process runs with high availability and per internal standards. Establish Billing platform performance SLAs and L1/L2/L3 support matrices. Ensure proper technical environments are established and populated with data to facilitate development, testing, QA and production
Ensure solution architecture, design, application and integration development follow best practices/principles and standards for enterprise architecture, source code management, environment management and testing
Proactively plan for new platform demands including but not limited to organic growth, new products, new product features and new features. Ensure that new products/features created by other teams are supported and billable
What you'll bring to the team:
Minimum 5 years of proven success architecting and integrating ETL solutions
Experience in FinTech, Telecom, industry w/specific knowledge of financial transactions, high volume data/transactions and processing environments, security, testing, and reporting
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field
Billing and rating system experience
Understanding of how to architect solutions for public and bespoke applications
Experience working with cloud based solutions, APIs, Dell Boomi, FTP, Sage Intacct and Salesforce
Results driven, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Time management and self-prioritization of tasks with the ability to effectively create visibility of needs with teams in order to drive issues to closure
Experience with Power BI, database technology, data warehousing (DWH) a plus
Ability to quickly demonstrate validity of approaches through POCs
Demonstrated understanding of data engineering and data integration
