As a developer on the software automation team you will be responsible for helping determine the best approach for automation throughout our software development process. You will work with the different product teams to understand their automation needs and implement tools and tests to help us more efficiently deliver our products. As part of this team you will have the opportunity to explore new technologies and tools to evaluate what is the best solution to meet our needs. Your goal is to help influence and increase our automation so that we can identify critical issues early in the development cycle and provide the best value to our customers.

Develop and utilize new tools to assist in automation efforts through the development process as well as provide guidance on industry standard tools and help select new tools and technologies to improve our automation process
Plan and develop automated tests to validate features and functionality across various Vital Images products.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and peers in software automation best practices
Help report automation status to management team by pulling together relevant metrics and reports
Develop and maintain test suites in a CI environment and help drive the approach for integrating different test suites into various CI stages.
Help drive product quality by influencing teams to address critical defects by clearly writing up defects found as part of testing as well as influence teams to make product changes to assist in automation
Ensure the business, technical and functional requirements are being met throughout the Software Development Lifecycle
Ensure that internal quality processes are followed and help produce artifacts for verification and validation plans, test reports, and other documentation that complies with regulatory requirements
EDUCATION AND SKILLS
8+ years of experience in Software Engineering
Experience with Continuous Integration and Test Automation Development
Ability to develop maintainable, production level code
Experience with Test Management and Defect Tracking tools
Demonstrated ability to work on complex projects and work cross-functionally
Focus on quality and detail
Demonstrated initiative and commitment to ongoing process improvement
Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong willingness and ability to learn new technologies
Experience working in an Agile environment
