United Safety-Fireboy-Xintex, based in Grand Rapids, MI, supplies a broad line of safety equipment to the marine, transportation, land-based, and other industries. Currently, we are seeking a dedicated Technical Inside Sales Representative to provide technical application support for the sizing and selection of equipment.

Responsibilities:As the Technical Inside Sales Representative you will:
Handle phone calls from customers, sales representatives, and distributors.
Provide technical support by sizing equipment and interfacing with Engineering and Manufacturing.
Assist VP of Sales & Marketing in the completion of individual projects, proposals, and orders.

Provide quotations to customers that:
Accurately reflect the solution for the project to meet the customer’s requirements.
Meet the appropriate codes and standards.
Comply with company guidelines.
Result in company-approved profit margins.
Maintain organized project files.
Become versed in the complete line of Company products.
Understand applicable codes and regulations.
Follow up with customer leads and quotations to ensure timely continuity of projects.
Assist Customer Service with order entry.
Follow orders through manufacturing, installation, and start-up.
Strive for continuous quality improvement.
Support Sales representatives with travel as needed.
Support trades show and conference efforts as needed.
Support Marketing efforts, including developing a working customer database.
Generate drawings and Detection books to explain proposals.
Other duties as assigned.

You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or relevant experience
Some application engineering experience or exposure is helpful.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including e-mails.
Good engineering and analytical skills.
Computer skills using Microsoft Office 365, AutoCAD or SolidWorks, MAGI, and SalesForce experience are a plus.
Self-motivated team player.
Strong customer service attitude with a quality-focused mentality.
Strong work ethic with the desire to learn something new every day.
Experience in fire safety systems is a plus.
