To provide technical engineering support including prototype build, testing and development of mechanical subsystems, with a focus on Consumables for PoC diagnostic devices, within a larger product development program.
Apply mechanical engineering methods and manufacturing process requirements to design
Work with industrial designers, other mechanical engineers and across functional teams to design and develop new products
Working with Consumables leader, apply microfluidics and plastics knowledge to develop solutions to PoC diagnostic device consumables challenges
Use CAD to generate detailed designs and component manufacturing drawings
Liaise with workshop technicians to produce mechanical components
Construct prototypes and perform mechanical and functional testing
Generate technical documents including design descriptions, test plans and reports in support of project outcomes
Other tasks and projects as required
2+ years relevant experience developing Consumables for PoC diagnostic devices, including microfluidic and plastic injection molding knowledge
Excellent problem diagnosis & solving skills
Competent in MS Office suite
Competent in CAD (Solidworks)
Experience with a variety of manufacturing methods and working with suppliers
Experience working within a quality system
Attention to detail
Positive, self-motivated disposition and personal accountability
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required
Up to 10% both within the U.S. and internationally.
