Environmental Resources Management, Inc . (ERM), seeks an entry level to 5+ year experienced Water Resources Engineer for their Charleston WV office to provide a variety of water resource related engineering services. The position will involve collaboration with a network of water resources and engineering professionals across North America. The ideal candidate is an organized professional, has a positive team attitude, solid technical aptitude and creativity in assisting and eventually leading a number of water related projects. The successful candidate will be confident, service-oriented, and able to relate well with diverse groups of technical professionals. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the application of hydraulic and hydrologic analysis to a variety of projects.
Assist in assessment of water and wastewater treatment technology.
Perform mass loading calculations for water and wastewater permitting.
Develop and run various hydrologic and hydraulic models.
Acquire and process datasets, monitor model applications, perform supporting calculations, and document results.
Compile and evaluate data and assist in report preparation.
Prepare plans, permits, and reports.
Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Communicate with team members, regulatory agents and clients.
Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS:
Available for periodic travel / field work.
0 to 5+ years of relevant professional experience involving hydraulic modeling and hydrologic analysis, engineering design and report preparation.
Engineering degree with an emphasis on water resources is preferred. Educational background would preferably include aquatic chemistry, water and wastewater treatment, fluid mechanics, statistics, and water resources. Related degrees or professional experience will be considered.
Experience in a professional services firm preferred.

Experience with the following skill set preferred:
detailed hydraulic and hydrologic modeling;
culvert and open channel sizing and design;
water and wastewater treatment design;
stream / wetland restoration;
stormwater quality and quantity analysis;
flood risk / mitigation;
implementation of hydrology field programs;
Report and proposal writing.
Preparation of permit applications.
Groundwater, surface water and soil sampling.
Familiarity with hydrology, hydrodynamic or water quality model preferred (e.g., HydroCAD, HY-8, HEC-RAS, SWAT, QUAL2K, WASP, POM, ECOMSed, CE-QUAL-W2, EFDC etc.).
Strong technical writing skills.
Working knowledge of various hydraulic modelling software.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and ArcGIS preferred.
Capacity to work both as part of a team and be a self-starter.
Dependable, flexible and well organized.
Ability to cross over and assist in other aspects of civil and environmental engineering a plus.
Aptitude to manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
