Note: This position is for Second Shift 3:30-Midnight
You will create design solutions to address any and all nonconforming parts and systems on an airplane, which includes correcting any build or design errors found during production. Repair solutions will take into consideration: composite structures, interiors, payloads, electrical systems, functional testing, finishes, aerodynamics, electromagnetic environment, damage tolerance, fatigue, static strength, propulsion, safety, much more.
Coordinates activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related production problems encountered in assigned area of aircraft manufacturing facility: Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to maintain current knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities in assigned area.
Confers with quality control, material, manufacturing, and other department personnel to provide technical support or obtain specialized information
Analyzes damage repair or structural modification to determine appropriate solution
Designs interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis.
Develops non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards. Conducts simple static strength analysis.
Investigates reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine nature and scope of problem
Serves as member of material review board to determine disposition of defective or damaged parts.
Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.
Develop experience on Federal Aviation Regulations and regulatory processes.
Examines, measures, inspects, or tests defective part for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications, using precision measuring and testing instruments, devices, and equipment.
Analyze and write production discrepancies disposition with production and design knowledge and repair methods.
Function as engineering liaison member to resolve engineering problems with other departments
Check drawings and suggest changes and complete ECN/DCNs.
Complete assigned administrative tasks.
What You Bring to the Team (Requirements):
Authorized to legally work in the U.S.
Must be able to work Second Shift 3:30-Midnight
1-2 years relevant experience or education
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Specialty of Aerospace, Materials, Mechanical, or closely related discipline
Fundamental understanding of basic engineering principles including fluid mechanics, strength of materials and stress analysis
Ability to follow prescribed processes, specifications, and guidelines
Work well independently and in a team with positive attitude & professional presence
Strong knowledge of computer-aided design tools
Strong mechanical design aptitude and capability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be reliable and dependable with an excellent attendance and punctuality record
A passion for the field of Aviation
Previous aerospace experience preferred
Certification Program Experience
Experience with composite materials preferred
