The Outside Sales/ Showroom Manager is responsible for launching our new gas products offering and customer showroom that complements our existing propane business operations. Manager will oversee product offering, product manufacturer and distributor relationships, and the sales process. This position will also assist our customers with making product selections that best align with their specific commercial or residential needs. As Showroom Manager, this person will also be responsible for managing our Bergheim Products Showroom where the gas products and appliances will be featured. To excel in this role, one should be an active listener, great communicator, people person, and have a desire seek and close new business.
Project Scope and Sales:
Plans, schedules, and coordinates meetings with customers to establish new business and determine requirements for a project
Maintains product knowledge with gas products, brands, and distributors, etc. (ex. gas logs, fireplaces, appliances)
Manage and cultivate manufacturer and distributor relationships
Promotes products to builder, architect, landscape contractor and designer community
Negotiates pricing, quotes jobs and appliance packages, contract terms and conditions, and project scope with existing and new customers
Cross promotes product offering to existing Pico Propane & Fuels customer base
Coordinates sold jobs with install teams
Cross-sells appliance customers into propane customers
Promotes and executes similar offering and sales concepts to other Meritum markets
Upholds and maintains Bergheim showroom brand and image
Coordinates promotion and sales events at Bergheim showroom to attract new clients
Ensures showroom is kept to company’s visual standards
Hires, trains, and develops showroom team as demand justifies
Always maintains professional image and respectful relations with customers and the public
Addresses customer inquiries and provides superior customer service
All other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED, with at least two (2) years progressively responsible experience or related skills in sales, marketing, project management; or a combination of experience and education that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required
Understanding of the homebuilding/remodeling process, builder, designer and landscape community, appliances, retail operations, sales and marketing
Previous experience (at least 1 -2 years preferred) in homebuilding, appliance, outside sales or retail related business.
Experience in training and retaining sales talent (preferred)
Familiar with gas product offerings, brands and distributors, etc (gas logs, fireplaces, appliances)
Ability to identify and act on key networking opportunities in order to develop relationships
Assertive, self-motivated business developer capable of making independent decisions with an entrepreneurial spirit
Ambitious, hardworking and team-oriented
Solid history of meeting and exceeding sales goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to complete required job training as needed

Must be proficient with using the current Microsoft Office suite
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
