ABOUT THE POSITION:
Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:
Fieldwork involving multi-media environmental sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation & maintenance;
Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
Database management and data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications; and
Technical reporting and preparation of letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
You should expect to work closely with experienced professionals who will guide and integrate you into Geosyntec’s culture as you kick start your career. Here are some other things you should know about a typical Entry-Level Environmental Engineer or Geologist position with Geosyntec:
Training: This position requires 40-hour OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, scheduled and paid for by Geosyntec. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants
Fieldwork: 25 to 75%
Overnight travel: 25 to 50%

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or earth science (geology, hydrogeology, or geochemistry). (required)
Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in the above. (preferred)
Related internship or full-time experience in a consulting environment. (preferred)
Engineer Intern (EI) or Fundamentals of Geology (FG) certification. (preferred)
Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred)
Excellent problem solving and technical writing skills for environmental applications. (required)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
