Manufacturing Engineering's engagement with IDS products is not just limited to IDS manufacturing sites. We support our large supplier network and international builds with deployment of engineers. These engineers help to troubleshoot and resolve supplier issues before they come into IDS factories; as well as helping to integrate Major End Items (MEIs) at domestic and international sites.

Manufacturing Engineers design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team. You would apply your skills to reduce cycle time and customer lead time, improve productivity, and reduce material cost.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Transducer assembly (mechanical assembly, bonding and potting) experience desired
Molding experience desired
Developing undersea product line assemblies; including manufacturing processes
Developing tooling/fixture/die design concepts Interfacing with suppliers
Pro-Engineer/3D Modeling capability desired
Understanding of DFMA Principles
Planning and incorporation of design changes
Creating and overseeing projects using risk management techniques
Translating engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation
Dispositioning discrepant hardware
Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Providing technical leadership to multi- disciplined teams
Developing work cell layouts and critical lift processes
Conducting safety/ergonomic assessments
Generating and maintaining labor standards
This position will require interaction with senior personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and / or suppliers with some travel required.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
Experience in transducer assembly; such as mechanical assembly/bonding/potting
Experience in molding
Manufacturing Process or Procedure Development or Maintenance experience
Specialized Tooling Development (such as Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development) experience
Knowledge and ability to apply six sigma principles and techniques
Experience in DFMA principles
Knowledge of composites a plus
Pro-Engineer/3D Modeling capability a plus
Process familiarity with Paint, Plating, Chromate / Chemical Conversions" to the desired skills
Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Self-motivated and results oriented
Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools
Proficiency with simulation tools and augmented reality
Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) System
Experience with various automation systems

Experience with MRL and TRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level and Technology Readiness Level) Assessments
Ability to work in a team environment
Solid understanding of configuration management practices
Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
Ability to work with minimum direct supervision
Qualified Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent
Active DoD Clearance (Secret, Confidential)
Experience with related military and industry standards and specifications disposition non- conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)
Experience in developing manufacturing processes for undersea products
Design for Test and Design for Automation experience
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
