What does this role look like?
You will support Marine Operations throughout Western Alaska, traveling from your home port in Anchorage.

Some of your main responsibilities will be:
Fuel Truck Driver: delivering and receiving fuel to and from company storage or customer tanks on unimproved roads and barges on beaches
Maintaining and repairing diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles, heavy equipment, air compressors and pumps carried by barges
Operating heavy machinery, forklifts and assist with launching boats and barges
Some secondary duties that you may be asked to perform if you are able:
Welding necessary metal repair and fabrication
Maintaining mechanical systems on marine vessels
Proficiently use fleet maintenance software


High School diploma or equivalent or experience in lieu of education
Class B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements or the ability to obtain these within 90 days of hire
Experience in Fuel Operations
Ability to work overtime
TWIC Card or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Merchant Mariner Credentials or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Merchant Mariner PIC assist, or ability to obtain within 1 year

24-hour HAZWOPER Certificate
Welding Certification
DDE 4000 or higher, Merchant Mariner Engineer License

What an average day looks like:
You will perform heavy equipment maintenance and repairs.
You will assist with tug and barge maintenance and repairs.
You will operate heavy equipment (load equipment on and off barges).
You will perform bulk fuel deliveries via off-road fuel truck, and assist with barge fuel deliveries.
You will spend extended periods of time in remote locations.
You may relieve vessel engineers for short periods of one-to-two weeks.

Working Conditions
Works both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard, viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.

FLSA Status
The position is Non-Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. All work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health are expected to be respected and complied.
