Successful candidates will play a critical role in mechanical design and analysis functions across a multitude of robotics and electro-mechanical product development projects. This position demands exceptional creativity to develop innovative solutions for high performance devices. It requires both a sound understanding of fundamental engineering principles and hands on abilities to make prototypes and/or conduct laboratory testing. The successful candidate will be assigned to develop first of a kind and/or state-off the art devices.
Design and analysis in such areas as mechanical, structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, electro-hydraulic, thermal, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and efficient use of energy, in support of Sarcos’ new products
Development of test plans and procedures and analysis of experimental data generated in the related tests and experiments
Ability to multitask and prioritize

Insatiable curiosity for science, technology and understanding of how things work
Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 7 years experience; MSME and 3 years experience or PhD/ME with 3 years relevant experience in designing and analyzing high performance mechanisms and electro-mechanical devices (e.g. transmission, linkages, electromagnetic motor driven actuators; etc.)
Knowledge, understanding and experience with mechanical design, engineering materials, solid modeling and fabrication technologies. Understanding of basic electronics is a plus.
Must have extensive, practical, hands-on mechanical design experience that includes designing complex mechanical assemblies that contain many moving parts.
Extensive experience with solid model design tools (preferably SolidWorks), and design and analysis tools such as MATLAB, as well as facility with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Insatiable curiosity for science, technology and understanding of how things work.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Work is performed Monday through Friday with ability to work overtime and weekends
Safety awareness is absolutely essential at all times while in the work area
Must be able to stand and sit for extended times
