The Innovation Packaging Engineer will be the liaison between New Product Development (NPD) and Operations, progressing products from ideation to commercialization. Innovation Packaging Engineer will support he efforts of the developing, producing and launching of new product innovation for Monster Brand and Strategic brands around the world, with strong emphasis on package design, product development and co-pack solutions.
The position will be based in Corona, work closely with various departments within the Operations Department as well as the Quality, NPD and Brand Managers within the company. The Engineer will be working with the Marketing Group and Operations for innovation projects worldwide.
The Engineer will attend plant start-ups for New Products. The Engineer will search for new suppliers on innovation.
This position will gather information for all the packaging materials. This individual is part of the Operations Department and reports to the Dir. Of Engineering. This position will be in direct communications with our packaging suppliers (vendors) in Asia and surrounding areas including their Sales, Customer Service and manufacturing facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage the new product creation from ideation to commercialization. Monitor and control the progress of the
Project Plan Logistics for new product launches. Determines the logistic consequences of proposed plan changes and related actions on project and program level.
Manage quotes and budgets for capital expenditures associated with innovation.
Align product development, manufacturing and supply availability plans for new product launching.
Oversee timelines with suppliers to keep projects on track for all new product launches.
Work closely with suppliers on package qualification.
Coordinate test trials for new package qualification.
Coordination with operations, source co-packing solution for new packaging innovation.
Source innovative packaging options based on category opportunities.
Manage supplier information/ quotes for packaging.
Attend weekly calls with NPD / international teams.
Coordinate new product launches with international NPD teams.
Support the development and design of new packaging ideas for international market.
Assist with new packaging initiatives for Monster in international markets.
BA marketing / business
Experience with package design and development
Strong background in consumer products/ specifically beverage Strong Product development experience

Align and Prioritize projects with key business stakeholders and region leadership. Supports a regular review of the stakeholder analysis to identify and segment key stakeholders, understand their needs, and identify communication/interaction/ routines

Organization Impact/Influence: Interface directly with senior Company leadership, Region Leader, Engineering & Supply Chain leadership team, R&D plant managers, production managers and other stakeholders. Strong interface with quality, environment, risk management and legal departments at corporate level. Deal with contractors and suppliers at senior level; up to President / CEO as necessary.
Experience working effectively with teams outside formal lines of authority to accomplish goals
