Under the direction of a senior software applications engineer, provide Geospatial Information System (GIS) support required to produce Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) products (including the infusion of METOC and intelligence data to produce and monitor applications, products and web services that use multidimensional visualization, simulation, and modeling methods. Perform software application programming support to develop new capabilities for GEOINT product/web services that incorporate GIS analysis methodologies, automated workflows and mapping solutions, customized GIS toolsets, spatial visualization of derived data, and associated Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation (i.e. Project Plan, CONOPS, Functional Design Documents, Software Architecture Plans, System Requirements Specifications, Database Design Documents, and Test Plans, User Acceptance Test Plans). Collaborate with system administrators and analyst expert to transition GIS products, applications, and web services to operations. Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software. Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
