You will be inventing new Police Speed Measurement and Police In-Car Video products. You will be involved from initial concept all the way through the design/manufacturing cycle. You will sometimes have customer contact and help solve customer issues after the delivery of product. Your talents will make a difference you will be instrumental in the development of products that save lives on our highways.
Applied Concepts, Inc., is a Richardson, Texas based electronics manufacturing company, with 200 employees, specializing in Radar products, Lidar speed measurement products and Video products. We were founded in 1977 and design, build, and sell all of our own products worldwide.

We are looking for ONE exceptional Linus Software Development Lead who can help us to continue our tradition of being both the technological leader and sales leader in our marketplace.
We will be particularly interested if:
Linux system architect.
In-depth knowledge of the programming languages in-use (C/C++) on a Linux platform and embedded environment.
Extensive Linux knowledge, deep in kernel level.
You are always looking for innovation; stay informed on the latest developments in programming, electronics and other areas that might contribute.
Domain knowledge in the area of Doppler Radar, Ranging Radar, and/or machine vision camera systems as related to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

Develop client specific applications using C/C++ on a Linux platform and embedded environment.
Experience with Linux real time threading management principal.
Experience with full development cycle and rapid development cycles.
The team works according to the AGILE/SCRUM method.
Duties may also include GUI development in an X windows application;
Technical support of clients
Documenting of coding and setup schemes
Improve existing software and documentation
Occasional international travel required
BS degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 5+ years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree
5+ years' experience with SW development in C/C++
5+ years' experience with UNIX/Linux
1+ years' experience with a formal development process
Able to work in a small team environment
Experience with Qt development framework
Experience with Jira and Redmine
Experience with SCRUM
Knowledge of developing software of embedded systems
Experience using version control systems
